A riff on High Voltage Execution, card #40 of the original Mars Attacks cards set.
With a large stack of cards to do in a short period of time I tried something new here.
So trial and error led back to the first pair being the best, but without a colour background.
Mars Attacks cards first appeared in 1962, conceived and produced by Len Brown, Woody Gelman, Wally Wood, Bob Powell and Norman Saunders.
The Heritage card series is celebrating the 50th anniversary, which is now already reportedly sold out.

This sketch was taken from a black 'n white photo in a newspaper. She is the wife of Prins Willem-Alexander the heir to the throne in Holland. Argentinian herself, she quickly learnt Dutch, and has become the "Diana" of Holland. They have three daughters. It has been said that she converted her man from a drunken layabout to a responsible royal.
There was also a bit of fuss, since she is the daughter of a minister in the government of Videla, an Argentine dictator.

The 49th of 51 sketch cards done for the Avengers Assemble trading card series by Upper Deck.
This is the only time I went away from using the first 100 issues of The Avengers as reference. I wanted to do (at least) 2 cards of the major players in the film and Nick Fury is basically a head on a monitor or guy in a t-shirt for most of his appearances (aside from the Scorpio story depicted earlier). So here I riff on Jack Kirby’s cover to Strange Tales #135 but giving him the Steranko-era uniform.

I wasn’t sure if the first pair was the way to go, so here we have a non-mirror image for the (sort of) grey card, with a colour background...not the way to proceed.
