I lost myself with all these scans, so I go back:Day 11: Peugeot 404 flatbed still in the workshop. I admit that I was surprised and very happy with the result.
Prompt: simple pencil sketch drawn using black pencil on a white piece of paper, a portrait sketch of a Yorkshire Terrier dog, high detail, high-resolution, --ar 4:5 --personalize k3x293c --v 6.1
My second attempt at sketching books for the volume construction exercises. The first one was getting so full of wrong angles and lines that I decided to start over. It still looks wrong and the kids woke up before I had a chance to add the lettering.
I'm surprised at how hard it is to get the angles right. Some angles I drew as obtuse only to realize they were acute and had to be redrawn.
I'll attempt again tonight. Not sure if I should simplify and sketch only two books or add extra books/objects to create more complex negative shapes as during last week exercises I found it easier to sketch accurately while concentrating on the negative shapes.

Work in progress. ^^ My most recent sketch in my journal. Lan Ai and Lan Ake. I realised too late that their hands were in the crease. I'm sure I can't ink this in my journal (the other side has another drawing), so I am trying to see if I can do lineart in Photoshop instead, which is quite insane actually... especially since I can't stay on the computer too long doing this.. I'd prefer to use SAI but my trial expired. ^^; I started to do the line art, but it might take me forever. My arm now hurts. :(
Someday I'll post the finished one here...maybe. but it will be a very long time from now! ^^;
Oh and hey look, it's a scan! ;3

This sketch was done entirely with a 6B pencil. I think I used up half the pencil sharpening it so often!
I went hiking and sketching today in Sai Kung Country Park to support "Save Our Country Park" Alliance. The aim of the alliance is to protect every inch of our precious nature reserve within the many country parks in Hong Kong.
The pro-China Hong Kong government (a government which is not elected by the people of Hong Kong but appointed by Beijing, China) is proposing to develop our parks into new towns as it is estimated the population will continue to rise in our 7 million people city-state despite the fact that birth rate has always been low. Since the handover from Britain to China in 1997, Hong Kong has gained almost 1 million of population due to the unregulated inflow of immigrants from China. The pro-China Hong Kong government simply does not exercise its right to screen people from China, a right that is enshrined in Hong Kong's constitution, the Basic Law.
Immigrants from China must be screened and our precious country parks must not be touched!

Just a very quick digital sketch. I tried to summarize everything,
showing 2 persons kissing and being part of the heart itself.
I might be working on this later on.
Thanks for your visit. Love is a big source of inspiration for me.

The Love Heart
A poem by Peter S. Quinn
The love heart is we
Both of us true
As feelings need to be
So life can renew
Easy comes from a stream
Flowing to the head
One in two it seem
Turning love to red
This is you and I
Giving of our touch
To the night dream sky
With its love so much
Nothing can be said
That isn't already here
Heart of one - two head!
So we both can share
Opposite two in one
Coming with love thru
Till our time's gone
In a rising dawn dew
Easy comes from a dream
That we together had
When love’s its true theme
Nothing needs to add

It is really difficult for me to show any of my sketches because they are so quick and rough. I don't like to do a lot of preplanning for my prints. My drawing abilities aren't really all that, but I am sketching every day now to improve them and keep the ideas flowing.
I am too scared to put it on the moleskin community that I lurk on.
