We are currently in a "get it gone" phase with the thought of moving in the next couple of years. Ran across these pages out of my college sketchbooks from a lot of years ago.
I now have sketches of 3 chinatown gates;

and now Portland - the Portland gate is similar to Victoria's. I'll colour this sketch later.
With the low tide there are some boats that think they can levitate over the water.

I got tired of trying to squeegee out paint from my small watercolor kit with half-pans, so I filled a couple of folding plastic ones that I have with bigger well. :)

This pencil sketch was done this morning while I let my coffee get cold. It is the closest I've come to the likeness of the photo I worked from with these sketches!
My husband did portraits and said you should avoid those with an open mouth, and a three quarter view. Guess I didn't listen!
Yesterday I painted one of the previous sketches... it was sooo bad I tore it up and threw it in the garbage. Guess I can't win them all! But I sure am trying!
