The simulation suite in the nursing building at Auburn University became critically important when the College of Nursing pivoted to remote instruction and as clinical sites have been increasingly limited.

Epidural Anaesthesia simulation model. ESA prize 2016. The complex skills involved with administering epidurals, such as locating optimal insertion point and needle angle, can only be learned by practice. However it can be dangerous for novice anaesthetists to practice their first epidural procedure on real patients. This simulator provides a training scenario whereby novice anaesthetists can practice needle insertions and visualise bony structures.

Playtesting the labyrinth game on the Moog motion platform.

In Chisasibi on the morning of July 6, 2016, from 10-12 a.m. ,a simulation training exercise was held to test the capacity of the community to respond to a major emergency.

The emergency simulation, spearheaded by Chisasibi Airport involved a scenario of a plane crash with 18 casualties. For the hospital, this was a "code orange" simulation to test the hospital's ability to triage and provide medical assistance to a large group of casualties arriving at once.

The training exercise was a collaboration with Chisasibi Airport, Cree Nation of Chisasibi, First Responders with the Fire Department, and Police. 22 community members, all volunteers, played the role of crew and passengers in a downed aircraft, using make-up to simulate injuries. The youngest volunteer was 9-year old Deandra Spencer.

Chisasibi Hospital maintained essential services throughout the exercise. "We had 8 real patients who arrived while the simulation was going on, a couple of them in serious condition," said Jason Coonishish, head of Prehospital and Emergency Measures for the CBHSSJB, who coordinated the exercise for the Cree Health Board.

European Political Community Summit Simulation for Moldovan Youth, 2023

On 26-27 May, 50 young people from various regions of Moldova took part in a simulation of the European Political Community Summit, organised by the Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) from Moldova. The event took place at the Moldovan Parliament in Chisinau.

The simulation took place on the eve of the summit of the European political community held near Chisinau on 1 June at the initiative of the EU. Forty-seven heads of state and government, as well as the presidents of the European Council, the European Commission and the European Parliament were invited to the summit.

The simulation provided young participants with the opportunity to take on the role of European leaders representing their countries or institutions. Participants discussed a variety of topics, including peace, democracy, climate, energy, security and misinformation, and offered their vision of how to strengthen security and stability on the European continent.
