Silent like it was holding its breath, the only thing moving was this handsome couple who helpfully posed perfectly in almost all my shots. They were a real gift and made some perhaps rather dull shots worth while.

Europe, 1921. The only surviving photograph of the very mysterious and largely unknown Mata Mari, sister of Hari. Silent movie actress. Dancer. Socialite. Spy. Pursued by various armies and the feared General von Zack, she famously escaped by balloon. World War I ended 14 minutes after she returned to base. Coincidence? We think not. Last seen enjoying Piña Coladas with American aviator Amelia Earhart in the South Pacific. She never gave an interview.

Silent Witness
On a small road trip behind Whale Rock Reservoir on Cottontail Creek Road, I find many interesting things to photograph. Whale Rock Reservoir is behind the Central California Coast beach town of Cayucos.
love those rocks lying in the water since the ice left them there some thousand years ago! But only over the surface for some decades cause the land is still lifting up here...

The Silent People in Suomussalmi, Finland.
”This is environmental art by Reijo Kela. Reijo Kela is a freelance dancer, choreographer and performance artist born in Suomussalmi.
There is almost thousand figures that make up the Silent People.
The Silent People found their current home in the autumn 1994.
The Silent People are clothed with new, clean clothes twice a year, at the beginning of the summer and in the autumn. The People also receive new heads straight from the field at the beginning of every summer.
The People receive their clothes as donations. The Silent People are made and clothed by the Suomussalmi Youth Workshop, which also takes care of their maintenance.”

Silent Running, now is that the cyclists or the couple of LNER Azumas that pass this way?
I mention the Azuma because the foot crossing here at Cononley is now closed due to the low audio levels of the Azuma horn - seriously! Thanks to Stephen Veitch for sending me the news article.
BBC News Headline reads:
Cononley level crossing shut for months over 'too quiet' train horn
A level crossing has been shut for more than six months because the horn used on the new Azuma trains is "too quiet".
Network Rail said the crossing, in Cononley, near Skipton, had been shut since December due to issues with "horn audibility".
Villagers said it meant they could not walk on a well-used footpath, despite the trains only running twice a day.
Anyway, here we have 66767 thundering towards with loaded stone from Arcow Quarry, whilst the cyclists passed not quite at the same time, but a quick snap and I’ve brought them together in Photoshop.
It was a day up on the Rylstone Branch, but a quick drive down here and I managed three freights in about 15 minutes, all caught on my youtube video youtu.be/MMYQO61WKRo

Autumn is silently running around the corner, I found many red leave at our house yard, I took some of them when the light become worm in the late afternoon. This is one of the shots with beautiful sunshine on some of the leaves.
The silent disco participants entertained the crowds on Victoria Street from the terrace during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival on the Royal Mile.

How do I begin to convey
the things you've shared with me.
I got up very early in the morning and headed to Emerald Bay, a picturesque bay at Lake Tahoe in northern California. I first stop at the small pier. It was still dark when I took this long exposure panoramic scene of the lake, shoreline, cabin, and snowy mountains in the back.
I processed a balanced, a photographic, and a paintery HDR photo from two sets of three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
