Fresh Scottish mussels soaking in a basin before being cleaned and cooked in traditional Belgian style. Absolutely delicious.

It is interesting how the mussels from Belgium, Holland, Wales and Scotland all taste different.

Those dudes sure have to lug a lot of stuff around in order to bring back a few shellfish. It's really hard work!

An example of the richness of sealife - this is on an old wharf piling at the Nanoose Naval Base.

Off the beaten path just north of New Smyrna Beach is a spot where tiny crabs come out to play and you can watch an osprey with its catch fly by, or hear a fish jump out of the water. In the distance, is the top of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. It's a hidden treasure, and thousands of these tiny crabs dart into holes in the sand to escape predation AND cameras!

We toured Essaouira with a local guide. This was the northern bastion of the walled city. I've seen it called Skala de la Kasbah and Saqqalah de Kasbah. The view to the north was nice!

This guy had apparently been gathering shellfish. The sandals he's wearing on those rocks make my feet hurt in sympathy.

with a pile of crabs (he didn't eat it all)
