Picked up a set of Miesha's Portuguese Tree Cork Grips from Rivendell. www.rivbike.com/product-p/gt5.htm

I put two layers of shellac on per Schmitty's instructions. Since the grips are on the short side, I put some cloth tape between brake levers and grips and shellacked 'em too. (Would have twined it to keep it up to Rivendell standards, but couldn't find my twine.) And glued the grips to bars with Gorilla Glue. I used a bit too much, as it was my first time using this glue, so you can see where it seeped out, especially through a crack on the left grip. (The crack due to my stupidity, of course.) They look nice, eh?

one of my favorite monoprints i made recently with a 'shellac plate'

I've been applying shellac to the cork tape and grips on my bike. It's supposed to prolong the life of the tape/grips and gives it a nice look. It wears off so you need to reapply the shellac at regular intervals. I've used clear shellac in the past but this time I used amber. Do ya think they look pretty?

Camber Sands; All Tomorrow's Parties

Here is one of the latest pieces I am working on for my show that I install on March 29th. This is a shellac resist technique where you paint shellac onto to dry greenware, porcelain or clay with no grog or sand works best. Let the piece dry overnight then wipe back the exposed areas with a wet sponge. This creates a beautiful raised area for glaze to pool around and highlight. The shellac burns out in the bisque firing and you need to wipe/sand off the shellac ash that is left on the piece before glazing. Fun technique!

This is Grant P.'s last RB-1

Finished a brand new Ironwood stock set for my AK.

An example of a couple of wooden pencil boxes I have just finished for two nephews.

Box joints using Red oak and Poplar.

The name was printed out on a colour laser printer, and attached to the timber using gel medium. After drying, the paper was rubbed off to leave the name.

Finished off with 6 or so coats of white shellac.
