I always enjoy the end of the afternoon most at Sussex Prairie Garden and wish I could stay on until it's all bathed in warm evening light. Maybe I should just hide behind a tree. I mean, you wouldn't tell, would you? :)
The prettiest time of the year is here – it's autumn!
Taken with Pentax K-5 digital camera and smc Pentax-FA 50mm F1.4 lens.

The blossom in the churchyard looked so pretty so I grabbed a just in case shot.

This one was mistakenly put in a box with old invalid coins. As you can see it quickly started to look like the other coins in the box. I had to partially clean it so that you could clearly see in the photo which coin it was.
HMM!
Small containers ready to fill in an orderly manner. (This is not my style, except when filing RAW photos.)
Inspired by Flickr Friday for #ABitOfOrder this week. If you'd like to see a different focal point or horizontal layout, and feel irritated by my preference for shallow dof, ask and you might receive. My husband and I don't see eye to eye on photography. But he's good at landscape photography, using f/8 and smaller apertures ;)
Now to fill these containers in an orderly manner. (Tidy is not my middle name; how did Flickr Friday know?)
Thanks for your faves, comments, and just for looking. If you borrow this, please link back to this page ;)
Macro of a dahlia in my garden, this is the only bloom at the moment. Our weather has been pretty wet and cool and it doesn't seem to be doing the plants much good. We're still waiting for summer.

I took this one using the Sweet 35. Then I started playing with multiple exposures...see the previous photo.
Flowers from my flower delivery last week.
Wishing you all a wonderful, safe seeking...stay well
Day 336/365:
Continuing with the festive theme, although the colours aren't very festive. Blame my confusion for that. I thought the LCoF theme was black and white Christmas ornaments but I think it's actually the MM theme. Oh well, another day done and dusted whatever the theme. Happy Friday.
Everyone is posting sunflowers. I thought i need as well;-))
We are going to the sea so i would see you at the eve but dropped by to wish you a good one:-)
Bathed in a soft light against a dark, dramatic background, this Cyclamen bloom holds the spotlight. Its gentle pink petals unfurl like wings, revealing a deeper crimson heart. The shallow depth of field elegantly blurs its companion in the background, drawing the eye instantly to the exquisite details and subtle textures of the perfectly focused flower. A dance of light and shadow, the image captures a moment of quiet, ethereal beauty.
My husband took a seat into the garden for me yesterday so I could get a few photos of my Night Silence dahlia. It was so good to be able to use my camera.
Then a play in Photoshop to get this frame within a frame.
I haven't been on Flickr much lately as my back has been very bad again. I managed to get a face to face appointment with the GP on Friday and after over two years we finally have a plan going forward. Stronger pain killers and more tests and hopefully a way to prevent more fractures. I am finally feeling more hopeful.
I apologise for lack of interaction but appreciate your understanding and will try to catch up with your photos.

This is Churchill, our latest adopted oldie. He is a 13 year old golden retriever. He has quite a few issues, some we weren't expecting but he's here now and here is a warts and all photo after a visit to the vet. He had to have dye in his eye to check for ulceration. Luckily there wasn't any. He does have very badly infected ears and a massive hotspot on his chest. He had to have a huge area of fur shaved off. He didn't want that bit in the photo. He also has very bad arthritis. Hopefully it won't take too long for us to get him in better condition.
First off, apologize for the quality. None of the dragonflies is really sharp. That´s because I simply had no time. I had to shot urgently and until they were gone. You have to know that i shoot most of my pictures with 2 or 3 of my dogs surrounding me. So it was a matter of time until one of them recognizes what I am aiming for. The disquieting around me begins and most of the animals (especially) dragonflies will fly away :)
But I guess better then no pic of them :)

The city was covered in brilliant, white snow. Despite the nice, warm weather we had last week, I prefer this whiteness, it's like a fresh set of clothes for the city. Too bad it'll melt, sooner or later. January 2024.
Taken with a positively ancient Konica Minolta Dynax 7D digital camera from the early 2000s, and a slightly less ancient Sony DT 18–55mm F3.5–5.6 SAM kit-lens.
Although ancient, this camera is a joy to use, it is feature-full and responsive. On the other hand, the batteries aren't long-lasting, possibly due to ancient electronics.
My ranunculus are blooming so I had to get out there with my camera.
You have probably gathered that I am rather partial to a frilly pink flower! ;)

I have been outdoors with the very old russian prime lens Tair 11A. My lens must be from the very early Production back in 1965 because of its unique Serial Number ! This thing is over 50 Years old and still works like a charm. Build like an russian tank - build for the eternity :)

Leaving the sunsets and landscapes firmly outdoors... here's a change of direction with an indoor shot. Trying out my new lens just received this afternoon. Bokeh-licious.
"If we had a keen vision of all that is ordinary in human life, it would be like hearing the grass grow or the squirrel's heart beat, and we should die of that roar which is the other side of silence."

I gave up on my 31 days of Lensbaby challenge as my dear friend passed away on 22nd December. I no longer had the inspiration or inclination to carry on with ithe challenge. This is a tribute to her.
She was a shining star who brightened the lives of everyone who knew her, with her wit and wicked sense of humour. She was my friend, my crafting buddy and my neighbour and I miss her very much.
Losing someone close to you puts things into perspective somewhat. So I am not going to apologise for not commenting because I am busy spending time with my family. I will stop by when I can but in the meantime I will possibly hit that star so you know I am still thinking about you and appreciate your images and your friendship. Please don't feel the need to comment on my images...life and family are the most important and precious things!
I wish you all a very happy 2025 but above all I wish you health and time with your loved ones!
