Photographed during a lunch-hour exploration with Alvin. West Hastings Street, downtown Vancouver. February 20, 2018.
Artistic image of roses growing at the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland in Dublin. Taken with the Canon 5D4 and the 50mm lens.
Possible for Macro Mondays, lens wide open.
Let me know if you cannot view the tape measure at almost 2 centimeters/centimetres.
At the edge of a beautiful woodland-edge patch of ferns. And Emmy is sure there must be squirrels ️️close by, to chase. Or maybe even bunnies. She's silly almost all the time except when she smells little critters. And then she's 100% focused on the "hunt."
P.S. No 🐇🐇️️or squirrels were harmed to get this shot. 💗
Macro shot of a tea strainer with back lighting for my camera club 30 day challenge, day two = kitchen utensil.

... a lovely cup of tea at my mum's at Sunday afternoon ... when I saw it I remembered this weeks theme of Macro Mondays ... and there it went, my "normality" :D

I once read that you never have to leave your yard for photography....maybe so. The tree is a Carolina Sliverbell that the boss planted.
Macro shot of a copper power cable with lots of shallow dof from the 36mm extension tube. Wanted to try a possible abstract.
See you on May 24, o' virtual Flickr friends! Comments turned off, I think ;)
Thanks to David, Ivan, Jodi, Kris, Mai-san, Mike, NJ, Philip, Sun, and Yukiko for joining me on Vancouver-area Four Thirds Photographers photowalk to celebrate Four Thirds Day (even though we were technically a day early). Anything goes 2021 - Focus is overrated - a deliberately out of focus image.
This is a garden with a grey gate, and a wall with a rose hanging over. I took a double exposure with my Sweet 35. This is the first image which I deliberately blurred and I quite liked it as a standalone image for the theme. I may post the double exposure too at some point.
You past away almost 3 years ago but my memories still are here. And a person is just gone if we do not think about him anymore. Today, the 14th of November is your Birthday and i keep our lifetime moments in my heart! You loved mother nature so much and so i try to express my feelings once more through my lens. We both know this place very well.
I wanted to be with you today and visit you at your grave. But ironically, the same illness that took your life 3 years ago has now caught me. And while I'm tied to my bed, my thoughts are with you!

Tracks in the sand
One night I had a dream:
I was walking along the sea with my master.
Against the dark night sky
shone, like streaks of light,
images from my life.
And each time I saw two footprints in the sand,
my own and my master's.
When the last image passed my eyes
I looked back.
I was startled to discover
that in many places of my life's journey
there was only a trace to be seen.
And those were the hardest times of my life.
times of my life.
Concerned, I asked the Lord:
"Lord, when I began to follow you,
you promised me
to be with me in all my ways.
But now I discover
that in the hardest times of my life
there is only a trace in the sand.
Why did you leave me alone
when I needed you most?"
Then he answered, "My dear child,
I love you and will never leave you alone,
especially in times of need and difficulty.
There, where you have seen only a trace
you have seen,
I have carried you."
Thank you for visits, comments and favs!

All around us the crocuses sprout out of the ground. But they are not blooming yet, so we are a bit later than the rest here in the deep southeast of Germany :)
From today on i´m again a bit more constantly around here :)

Wish I had taken botany and photomicrography, as my sister did. This is the interior of a small Alstroemeria non-native cut flower. It has freckles on the petals and arrived here green. Then gradually turned yellow-gold.
Have no idea how that drop happened. Weeping for our country, perhaps.
The Laowa 60mm f/2.8 magnifies by two, and I could focus approximately 1/2 inch/ 0.27 cm from the stigma.

#Wing
I didn't have much choice for "Wing" if I didn't want to photograph the white feather again. So I photographed a souvenir from a cruise along the Danube in December 2016, a tiny guardian angel pendant/talisman bought at Melk Abbey, the famous monastery complex in Austria. Melk was the first station of that cruise, albeit way too short. Our group was rushed through the most important parts of the impressive and huge building complex in a guided tour, and we were only left "off the leash" at the souvenir shop, so that is the clearest memory I have from Melk because the guided tour itself was somewhat of an information (and image) overload.
Since, as you know, sharpness isn't everything and the pattern of the silver wings gave a nice bokeh, I decided to go for the blur, focusing only on the tip of the tiny angel's right wing (or the left wing; it's practically identical here because the angel's head and body are made of two amethyst beads that you can turn around every way you want to). The "eyes" are the two LED lamps I'd placed on both sides of the talisman. The blur helps to obscure any unwanted detail or dust on the amethyst beads. I also used the natural light LED light from above, placed slightly behind the angel so it would give just a little bit of backlight to give a nice glow to the semi-translucent beads.
HMM, Everyone, and have a nice week ahead!

Coffee at Eleven, Elizabeth? Is a line from a famous British sitcom - Keeping up appearances.
It wasn't actually eleven when I made this but late afternoon. I had the unexpected pleasure of looking after my grandson this afternoon. Needless to say I was too busy to get a photo until he had left and I decided to relax for a few minutes with a coffee...two birds with one stone. Looking after a toddler is exhausting work but great fun.
Beads on black. Experimenting to bring up enough light, but not to blow the highlights.
My sister brought some of these beads from Kenya. She enjoyed bartering for them, she said.
A somewhat rusted winch/pulley at North Landing, Flamborough, which makes you wonder whether it is still able to pull up the boats?
The visit gave me an opportunity to try out my RF28-70 f2.8, and its shallow depth of field performance; which could also reflect the image’s title. Long story short, I’m very impressed with this compact, light and highly versatile lens.
