Shadow Walkway

A nice sunny wander into town as a respite from revision for finals. Happy fence Friday!

Number 5 in my Shadows week. Taken at Newhaven Harbour East Sussex UK. Wide angle lens between the Massive gates preventing public access and West Arm wall towards the lighthouse. I was caught by the close shadows that extended along the arm and then continued round the curve to the lighthouse.

...shadows of boats waiting to be taken out for a spin!!

Our Daily Challenge: February 23: Shadows

I realized when taking on this challenge that I have a lot to learn in regards to photographing shadows. A slight change in light can result in a huge difference in the shadows. Its rather an amazing thing to play around with.

The glass was put on a chair quite unintentionally, and became the focal point of a whole series of photographs. It's moments like these that we appreciate each other's faux pas's.

Shadows falling on the ground

Shadows falling without a sound

Shadows showing you the way

To the treasures that fill the day

Shadows are kissed by the sun

Shadows walk and they run

Shadows disappear, till they are none

Clouds appear.... shadows are gone

A gentle view looking across to Round Hill at Wittenham Clumps, South Oxfordshire. I was quite taken by the soft long shadow of the tree cast by the late afternoon sun.

The shadow of the Big Wheel or Ferris wheel if you are American falls across the beach. It occurred to me that now that all restrictions have been lifted it will be quite difficult to take this shadow with the beach so empty since (obviously) it only occurs in the afternoon. I guess as summer wanes and people leave the beach earlier, then it may be easier.
