Photowalk at Port Adelaide with new Flickr friends.
Doorway to one of the old buildings. This is a 20sec exposure at ISO1600, only light was a street lamp about 20 meters to my right. I find the shadow on the right hand side door really intriguing, like a mystery of some sort.
What's behind the door...
I left my camera at home, but I had my iPhone on me. When I saw this light I had to snap it no matter what camera I had on me. This image is for sale, Click on the shopping cart icon.
Taken for the Our Daily Challenge group 16 April 2010 Handle With care.
We had a cowboy night at the Chapel tonight so I was able to get this shot of a noose for the handle with care challenge
As I walked into the kitchen I saw my shadow; I expect the unusual effect is caused by the sunlight shining through the faceted glass in the door behind me.
My legs are huge and thick and muscle-y. Usually I'm not fond of them, but i liked this angle and the effect of the light coming through the blinds.

This weeks theme was Shadows.
As theres been very little sun to create a strong shadow, it was down to bottle of the other half's perfume and a torch.
Maybe not a good idea as when I showed her the finished image she noticed that the bottle is almost finished and guess who'll have to buy her another bottle? - DOH!!

Bike 180 - Ride 6
It's not really, it's ride +lots, but I'm really rubbish at taking a photo of every ride. This was the third of the day (to work, home from work, then out to Mel's work to pick up the car - hadn't been on the fixed in a while for various reasons, but it wound up being the fastest ride of the day.
Been feeling AWFUL today, but for some reason every time I got on the bike everything washed away...

This is my first motorcykle, and my current, and even though I´m not very interested in vehicles and the likes, I really love this bike. It´s awesome.
Thought I'd take a few with the least number of glass elements between the subject and sensor. First try, was with a Spectra Duo-Focus from the 1950s.
Mark ‘Spoonman’ Petrakis and I are developing a shadow puppet show we call ‘Ubu’s Dreams’.
This short series of sketches stars Père Ubu, the hero of french poet Alfred Jarry’s surreal plays. In this show, Ubu is constantly dreaming, playing with archetypal characters from our collective unconscious.
For this project, we are creating a variety of wooden figures with a laser cutter: big faces, music notes, dancers, trees and graveyards, to name but a few. We then tape our puppets on wooden sticks, and wave them across the stage to bring them to life, with a projector over our heads.
We plan to continue this experiment through the summer and perform a first puppet show during our Dada exhibit at the Canessa Gallery in North Beach, from Nov. 3 to 12, 2016.
I also plan to use some of these techniques with our lower and middle school students, for the Maker Art courses I will be teaching this fall.
From shadow puppets to poetic robots, these interactive storytelling experiments have the potential to engage us at a deeper level and help us learn more about ourselves.
