Four green portions of trees anchor this photo of one of my favorite barns near my hometown. Living in Minnesota, we are often blessed with late spring snowstorms that bluster and blow threatening to stay around for the next few months. They don't and because it is late spring, the snow usually clings to everything and as it comes down, it is as if God shook the globe and let the snow settle.
A scene on the Settle to Carlisle Railway depicts Stanier Black 5 No.44943 slowly skirting Mallerstang with a southbound freight on the climb to Aisgill summit on 12 August 1967.( this is a reprocessed and cropped version of a previous upload).
A 142 unit approaches the junction with a train from Morecambe as 68024 waits for the road with a lightly-loaded 6K05.Probably the only time a Pacer will appear on this photostream !

Funny how timing works. We'd just been chasing the NS D41 from Mansfield to Bement and rolling along the Lafayette towards home when suddenly, boom! ATCS notification - green signal at Gibson City. Right, now for a race... that we are very out of position for.
I'll save you the long of it - we did not make it to Osman nor Goembel. The elevation changes in rural Illinois are greater than you'd think, to the point that NS D36s headlight was visible in the Osman community itself as we took the turn down the road through Blue Ridge. So, no signal photo.
Previously, I'd passed on shooting Blue Ridge because of all the guy wires in the way. This time, I finally settled for trying it for once. In all honesty, it wasn't bad at all. Anyways, I'm not too broken up over it - it was just another god damn SD60E. 7014 and 6975 are the dynamic duo who will not leave. Please go.
NS 7014 & NS 3266 take D36 through Blue Ridge, IL, passing the long-abandoned elevator and derelict telegraph lines.
The morning sun is sill low as 66761 passes Settle Junction Signal Box with the 6M25 04.22 Doncaster to Arcow Quarry empty hoppers in August 2018
On Monday, the sun settled beautifully and the clouds turned vibrant in colours! I've reduced the colour ever so slightly as the colours came out little too rich. Wishing you a nice weekend!

A challenging morning, chasing the tide out for a good composition amongst the rocks. I ended up going for a wider view of this piece of Pembrokeshire coast.

The Nuvic Cinema can be seen on the left at the bottom of the hill. It has a white canopy over the steps that lead up to the entrance, it was obviously market day when this photograph was taken.
My father Alfred Busfield was the projectionist at this cinema and we lived in a bungalow at the rear of the cinema when this photograph was taken.
The building on the right with six arches is The Shambles, on the top are six dwellings, umderneath are shops. One of them is a Fish & Chips shop, whilst now under different ownership there has been a chippy here for over 70 years.
This is the village of Bsharri on the shoulder of the valley of Kadisha.
Kadisha Valley:
In 1998, UNESCO added the valley to the list of World Heritage Sites because of its importance as the site of some of the earliest Christian monastic settlements in the world, and its continued example of early Christian faith.
The valley is a deep gorge carved by the Kadisha River. Kadisha means "Holy" in Aramaic, and the valley, sometimes called the Holy Valley, has sheltered Christian monastic communities for many centuries.
The sides of the valley are steep cliffs that contain many caves, often at more than 1000m and all difficult of access. The most scenic section of the valley stretches for approximately twenty kilometers between Bsharri, the hometown of Gibran Khalil Gibran, and Tourza. It is here also that the Holy River, Nahr Qadisha, flows, its source being in a sacred mountain celebrated in the Scriptures.
The Qadisha Valley’s many natural caves have been used as shelters and for burials back as far as the Palaeolithic period. The Aassi Hauqqa (cave) in particular, near Hawqa, Lebanon, has yielded archaeological items indicating Palaeolithic, Roman, and medieval periods of use.

Settle down now and sit with me
Let me tell you how this all came to be
A yellow flower with your pedals to the air
And flying on paper wings that brought you here
Summer rolls on in the lazy hours
An ether dream way
Of hummingbirds and clouds
Midnight swims in the cool back waves
And you in my arms as it rolls away
Little dandelion
Let your heart keep time
Now the clouds are gone
All of your tomorrows shine
All of your tomorrows shine
All of your tomorrows shine
Born of restless night the moon as a pearl
Playing games down inside your soft warm world
Hear my voice I know that you can
You're the fire in my eyes
The sun as a man
Seasons come along and seasons go
And what they'll leave behind
I don't pretend to know
I'm afraid that all I have missed
Will loom very large when the darkness lifts
Little dandelion
Let your heart keep time
Now the clouds are gone
All of your tomorrows shine
All of your tomorrows shine
All of your tomorrows shine
I will ride by your side
Wherever you go
I won't run I won't hide
Just letting you know
Just letting you know
Little dandelion
Let your heart keep time
Now the clouds are gone
All of your tomorrows shine
All of your tomorrows shine
All of your tomorrows shine
All of your tomorrows shine
