the car engine was off and we were looking at a herd of elephants crossing the road when out the corner of my eye I saw this small Duiker settling down for an afternoon siesta not far from us, these buck are really shy and very rarely venture away from the protection of bush and long grass...

Since yesterday broke a weather record here in Connecticut, hitting an all time 53º . . .

I've been in the mood for Spring, although I've finally been settling into winter . . . no complaints, just reminiscing!

This storybook station is set in a beautiful little village in Yorkshire. Steam trains run on this line, but sadly not on my timetable.

Snow geese descend on a winter day into an Oregon wetlands.

Of the 30 or more birds roosting in a tree on the far bank, only one White Ibis decided to come down to the water to feed. Happily, it picked a spot just a few feet from where I was floating on Horsepen Bayou, as though it thought I knew where the best worms and such were hiding.
