Using a cabinet scraper to finish a serving tray I made out of New Guinea Rosewood and Jarrah. It really came to life when I oiled it to seal the wood.

we were lucky enough to visit a village just off the main road outside Habarana in the cultural triangle area. It's quite a prosperous village and we toured parts of it in a variety of transport: bullock cart; engine drawn cart, foot and catamaran. Our final stop was to take lunch prepared in a village house. Food was served onto lotus leaf plates which rest on water hyacinth plate rests. Food was fresh, spicy, hot and delicious! We were also shown winnowing rice by hand...
