Participated in and photographed one of several community service projects my church led. It was great seeing the kids and adults spend their Saturday morning doing something for others in this way.

Massive round of applause to the staff at Temazcal for hosting over 100 Elites this evening in their inaugural night of serving damn fine upscale Mexican dishes. Herradura Tequila cocktails, sangria and draft beer quenched the thirst induced by crazy amounts of fresh prickly pear cactus and other assorted fruits, roast suckling pig, bacon wrapped quail, filet chipotle tortas, monster shrimp and devious desserts. Plus, if there were questions about the offerings, the staff brought out the all-iPad menus for quick reference.

Camelia Latin Jazz Trio cranked out the salsa and merengue and the window walls opened wide to offer breathtaking views of the water and distant city skyline. Plus, we gave away a pair of tickets to Wine Riot (congrats Jeremy K!) and a pair of VIP tickets to the Minds Matter Spring Soiree (congrats Andrew R!), not to mention a Ring Pop, Swedish Fish and boozy nips stuffed pinata to a very lucky Shaina P.

If you found the well tucked away spot and joined in the fiesta, be sure to offer your review here:

Kika De La Garza Fellowship Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, in Washington, D.C. This fellowship program offers faculty from Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) the opportunity to work collaboratively with USDA to gain insight and understanding of the federal government.
