Lately I have been helping out the dance school by sewing sequins on the costumes the kids will be wearing for their dance show. I now have a few extra holes in my fingers. Can't wait for the show! HBW everyone.
"I ordered 8 extra large and 4 small sequin applique flames from an online applique retailer that offered quick, 24 hour delivery. I found the black with red bottom “Ombre Cape,” and the black unitard, at a local halloween costume shop. I picked up a plain black headband, gold thread, a hot glue gun and glue sticks at a local craft store. I borrowed the black lace up boots from my Mom :) I already had gold eyeshadow and face bronzer.
I secured 2 small flames onto each side of my headband using the hot glue gun. For the cape, I decided on flames at the bottom that appear to be gradually climbing upwards – they go around the entire cape. 4 flames on the back and 4 flames up front (2 on each side). They were hand sewn with the gold thread, mostly by my girlfriend – partially by me. She ran out of time, so when I met her to pick up my cape, she gave me a quick bowling ally parking lot sewing lesson - literally - and I finished securing and sewing the flames myself. I realize that might be a disqualifier (the cape sewing help), but that’s okay.
I braided the end of my hair, and added some gold makeup and my Mockingjay pin as the final touch." --by Mahlet

Rue Mockinjay and the first dress i sew for her. It's not perfect, but i guess she likes it ^^;
Yeah, i'm a freak.
Sequins hand sewn in a sequence forming an all over embellished pattern. Perfect for a classic, elegant look in a garment or stole.
When it comes to things that sparkle & shine I’m a total magpie. I’m a sucker for glitzy sequins & flamboyant beading.
This is a really gorgeous vintage knitted sequin & bead dress, it was given to me by my boss & originally belonged to his friend who used to be a performer here in London!
I’m actually wearing it back to front in these pictures… I think that teamed with a tank or sheer top underneath it looks daring yet rather sassy too, perfect for a night of frivolous fun in a rock club.
I’ve added a fetish collar to give the outfit that edgy ‘Torture Garden’ slant!

I love it when I can use my props...Sequin hat, black net skirt, and mesh stockings...So much fun!
*I went back after a very constructive comment from kpriceWicked. I had another shot that showed more...I like it much better because it not only shows more of her legs and cool shoes, but also more of the youth chair that was my husbands when he was way more youthful.
Thanks Kim always nice to hear anothers take on an image.
I put the original at the bottom to let you see what you all think.
I used the same equipment as in the red dress image

Two more images in a row of decorative elements on formal dresses seen through a shop window. This was seen at The Crazy Queen", on Thomas Road in Phoenix, Arizona.
This image shows metallic sequin detail of golds, yellow and silver. The camera was able to pick up how the tiny sequins are manufactured with the die cut process and the coatings that produce each color.
