Looking close...on Friday: Winterwear

✨ Sequin Mini by small ✨

The moment I slip into the Sequin Mini, I am transformed into a living constellation—my body shimmering with a cascade of liquid light. The silhouette is daringly short, a flirtatious slip that caresses every curve, cut with precision to reveal while never surrendering its mystery. Its slinky straps trace across my shoulders, and the hemline teases my thighs with every movement, catching the glow as though I were born to command the night.

The artistry lies in its fabric: sequins reimagined not as adornment, but as armor of seduction. Each metallic disc gleams under Blinn, Envirox, Soft & High PBR lighting, creating a prismatic effect that rivals the mirrored halls of Studio 54. This is glamour born of history—echoing the sequined gowns of 1920s flapper queens, the disco divas of the 1970s, and the bold supermodels of the 1990s runway. With this Mini, I don’t just wear fashion—I inherit its legacy.

The detailing is exquisite: a fluid drape that clings where I ache to be touched, yet moves with the whisper of a dance. Its sheer brilliance makes my skin glow beneath, daring eyes to linger. This is high seduction, sculpted into couture.

The Sequin Mini is crafted for a perfect fit across the most desired mesh bodies:

💎 LaraX

💎 PetiteX

💎 Legacy

💎 Perky

💎 Bombshell

💎 Reborn

💎 Reborn Juicy Boobs

💎 Waifu

💎 NhuMa

💎 NhuMa Dreamgirl

Inside, its HUD unlocks a world of possibilities. Not just a change of shade, but a symphony of depth and light—where PBR technology allows me to capture the room with every step. Metallic reflections, soft diffusion, and the brilliance of high-environment response ensure I am luminous in any setting, from moonlit terraces to the heat of the dance floor.

This is not just a dress—it is an intoxicating statement of who I am when the night belongs to me.

🌙 Discover the Sequin Mini by small exclusively at the **Black Fair**.

📍 Event opens September 14, 2025.

Looking Close... on Friday: Sequins

The tree was a gift from one of the children I teach at Sunday Kids.

Elsa is ready to party

For the "Looking close... on Friday!" Group.

This is a close-up photo of sequins on a garment in a used clothing store.

When it was my birthday a few months ago, a very dear friend who enjoys photography as much as I do, and knows that I collect beautiful and vintage pieces, gave me a wonderful selection of antique ribbons, buttons, buckles, lace and other fine notions. She also gave me three follow up tins of similar delightful gifts for Christmas.

Those wonderful gifts are what has inspired me to create this series of "Embroider my World" images featuring my vintage bobbin collection. In this case, the wonderfully delicate salmon pink vintage lace comes from my own collection of antique notions, and the beautifully embroidered ribbon from India with sequin embellishments comes from the same aforementioned friend, but was given to me as a gift by her several years ago. I have accessorised them on a 1930s embroidered doily with a Dewhurst's Sylko Red Salmon reel of cotton which dates from between 1938 and 1954 and an Edwardian miniature reel of Salmon Pink cotton from Coats.

Belle Vue Mill, commonly known as Dewhurst’s, was built by Thomas Dewhurst in 1828. It opened in 1829 as John Dewhurst & Sons and was one of Skipton’s largest spinning and weaving mills. The mill’s position next to the Leeds Liverpool Canal meant that raw cotton could be shipped in by boats from Liverpool. Finished goods would then be sent back the same way ready for distribution. Coal to power the machine’s steam engines was also delivered by barge. In 1897 Dewhurst’s was bought by the English Sewing Cotton Co. It continued to produce Sylko, one of the mill’s most famous products. It was produced in over 500 colours and sold throughout the world. Sylko cottons are still available at haberdashers today.

In 1802 James Coats set up a weaving business in Paisley. In 1826 he opened a cotton mill at Ferguslie to produce his own thread and, when he retired in 1830, his sons, James & Peter, took up the business under the name of J. & P. Coats. In 1952 J. & P. Coats and the Clark Thread Co. merged to become Coats & Clark's. Today, the business is known as the Coats Group.

I thought it was about time I got back to my signature colour palettes . . . and what better way to start than with this fabulous mauve Citroen 2CV, which quite regularly parks in our street, and these fabulous sparkly curtains in the window of a local hair salon. I thought both made for the perfect pairing!

This Christmas bauble was hand beaded with sequins and pins by me. I have a Christmas tradition. I bead Christmas baubles for a select group of friends every year.

Each bauble is 15 centimetres in diameter and contain hundreds of sequins, varying in number depending upon the complexity of the pattern and the type of sequins I use. Most sequins in this bauble are 4mm in diameter, except the stars, which are 3mm and the sunburst sequins which are 6mm. The sunburst sequins are French and are known as "éclate de soleil" - "sunbursts". Depending upon the colour of the sequin, I will use either a gold or a silver pin to attach it to the bauble. I always leave the "éclate de soleil" - "sunbursts" until last, allowing a gap in the sequin chain to pin them in.

These baubles are smaller than some others I do, and because it is a simple pattern which starts from the inside and is worked outwards in ever larger circles, each bauble takes approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours per side.

It is however, a labour of love which I do to pass the time throughout the year.

An Abstract Sequins frame for a bright and cheery festive Sliders Sunday....Merry Christmas and a wonderful new year!

Tiny gold sequins

Taken while looking for Sequins - a challenge in the Looking Close on Friday theme this week. I have no sequins in my wardrobe but I found loads of sequin encrusted clothes in Marks and Spencer. They look extremely uncomfortable to me and I wonder how many will be left for the January sales? I have another photo for the group, this one for Monochrome Bokeh Thursday.

This is the yarn I spun from Loops March batt of the month club. I added a few snippets of novelty yarn from my scrapbooking stash.. and Steph sent a little bag of sequins to spin into the yarn! Yay more sparkles!!

I LOVE how it turned out!! The colors are just amazing.. it sparkles like crazy and the shredded money is just cool looking!!

I think I'm going to crochet this into a large pashmina sized shawl with a medium brown corrie as trim and fringe.. and this as the middle and fringe. I think it'll look super sweet!!

Steph is so amazing.. I can't wait to see what April brings.

Macro of these pretty golden circles.

I took this time extreme approach and made this one as totally abstract bokeh picture. Picture is from sequins of the stuffed toy. Although picture is from toy the word pair that I used is Iridescent-Abstract.

This Christmas bauble was hand beaded with sequins and pins by me. I have a Christmas tradition. I bead Christmas baubles for a select group of friends every year. In this case they are for a friend, who like me, elects blue as her favourite colour.

Each bauble is 15 centimetres in diameter and contain hundreds of sequins, varying in number depending upon the complexity of the pattern and the type of sequins I use. Most sequins in this bauble are 5mm in diameter, except the flowers, which are 4mm. The flowers are raised cups and are imported from France. Depending upon the colour of the sequin, I will use either a gold or a silver pin to attach it to the bauble. I have a Flick friend for whom I made this bauble in appreciation for her generosity in spirit. She has been like a ray of light. This bauble, made deliberately in Mardi Gras colours because I know how much she likes the celebration, is a thank you gift.
