Note the double set of spirals - one going clockwise and the other going counter-clockwise. This is nature's version of the Fibonacci sequence thus producing the largest number of seeds with the least amount of energy.
Happy Macro Monday!
Macro Mondays: Fibonacci
First time I've done a series of sequence photos without a tripod. Didn't turn out too bad, if I do say so myself.

I hope this is self explanatory - a set of sequences, the second 3 with surfactant added to the reservoir. The last shot shows the free flow of fluid as well.

A short video of an image sequence shot with my Canon 7D MkII from shooting several bursts at 10 fps of an eagle grabbing a fish from the Mississippi River. The clip includes 30 of the 50 images shot, played at 10 fps. I got several nice shots out of this particular sequence

Eclogite is a scarce, crystalline-textured, very high grade metamorphic rock dominated by reddish garnet and greenish omphacite pyroxene. It forms by deep burial metamorphism of mafic rocks - usually oceanic lithosphere that has been subducted deep into the mantle. If uplifted back to the surface, eclogite is often subjected to retrograde metamorphism, which alters its mineralogy.
The weathered eclogite seen here appears to have a schistose texture. It is part of the Chatanika sequence in east-central Alaska. The precursor rocks may be Paleozoic in age, with metamorphism during the Mesozoic.
Locality: borrow pit along the Elliott Highway, north of the town of Fox & south of the Chatanika River, east-central Alaska, USA
