The high quality stainless steel versions provide resistance to industrial cleaning agents common in wash-down environments. This means they can be used in the pharmaceutical and food industries or in breweries having strict hygienic requirements.
As recommended by See Level, I sprayed undercoating on all the gauges. I hope this will do 2 things: protect the electronics on the sensors and prevent moisture from getting under the sensor and cause the adhesive to fail. It is black ugly mess, though.
I am not a fan of the way these new motion sensors look. I was a long time fan of the older DSC models. This thing looks like an egg is sticking out of it. Oh well, adjusted the sensitivity potentiometer inside until it was working the way I wanted. No complaints there.
Attached to a piece of wood since the floor is not level, this seemed like the best idea. It's not an expensive sensor, and the panel is close-by.. It's a no brainer since the water boiler is in here. If the boiler is going to spring a leak, why find out the hard way? The alarm will now let me know if it senses water.

I found this sort of design in a Microchip appnote. If it works well enough, I might consider it for future projects. It should be good for otherwise unused pins and doesn't cost anything extra.
I think I will have to get a cap-meter. Jyetech has a pretty cheap kit that can measure from 1pF to 500µF. The pF-range should be useable for the sensor pads. That way I can do without guesswork when selecting the size of the storage capacitor.
I'm planning to use a timer-based repetitive charge-transfer-method to measure pad capacitance, not the more simple RC-timed method.

that horizontal "i" you see at the top of the speaker are the proximity and ambient light sensors. the proximity sensors turns off the screen when it senses your cheek touching it during a call so that you don't hit the keypad by mistake. the light sensor monitors the ambient light and sets the brightness of the screen accordingly.
Additional Sensors for use with e2 and elite energy monitors. Both models of energy monitor come supplied with one sensor. If you are operating a 3-phase supply then you will require two additional sensors. This is the standard sensor and will attach around a cable of a diameter up to 12mm.
All transmitters come with three spaces for sensors. Just look on the underside of the transmitter, take out the rubber cover of one of the spare spaces and plug in your additional sensor. Then attach it the same way as the previous one.
