Incredibly tiny photo-etch parts attached to three of the four landing struts. The sensor probes on the landing pads were locked in place using these mechanisms prior to deployment.

Holes in foam have been made and sensor circuit board partially soldered. Just trying out the rough layout of everything, to make sure it seems reasonable.

This shot through the viewfinder of an Ensign Ful-Vue shows the amount of grot that has accumulated over 60 years inside this old camera. So the next job is to try and disassemble the viewfinder to give it a bit of a clean.

The subject is the Mark II radio telescope at Jodrell Bank.

This wasn't a very good photo, but it does illustrate that these "specks" will appear even if the image is out-of-focus. If you don't clean the image sensor of the Canon EOS 300D, small spots of bright red and blue will appear during longer exposures. Sometimes very tiny white pixels will also form on the image.

The red tint on the headlights and interior was created by pointing a laser them during long exposure.

Tried my best to highlight the spots. This was taken after having the sensor cleaned and a 100 or so shots taken. Only two spots are visible, which from my understanding is normal for a full sized sensor. A full cleaning seems to be all it takes.

This week a golf with a running problems presented for repair. The cause was traced to a broken wire on the MAP sensor. Seems some corrosion to the wire withing the plug compounded by a rather rigid connection and it broke. A new housing & connectors spliced to the loom fixed it and all within an hours work.

BLOODHOUND SSC: Testing laser ride-height sensors at the Jaguar test track in Gaydon. Ideally Josh would have liked dusty conditions - but the mud meant the sensors got a jolly good workout. A bit more analysing needs to be done but they seemed up to the job. Film to follow soon.

Flex sensors and socks aren't a perfect combination, but it was an interesting one. Next time, possibly conductive thread instead, or flex sensors with something that bends differently, like rubber.

Here is one of the Sensorial shelves.

Canon G7 Sensor Exposed

Here a picture of what the image sensor looks like in a Canon G7 point & shoot camera. The sensor is the small purple & blue window just to the right of center of the image and held back with tape. It is normally mounted in the center of the camera where there is a little green window which is the IR blocking filter.

Line array sensor 512 pixels. For a new detetor to capture flying moths at night. Film is ready to make the PCBs. The aim is to build a tunnel with laser detection for flying moths at night.

The line sensor effective lenght is 64mm as detector. The exposure is done with a 650 nm laser line.
