The old lifeboat slip at Ackergill, taken with 10 stop ND filter at high tide and tweaked in silver effex with a nice selenium tint.
For more detail and comparison see previous upload. This one is on Adox Varioprint paper, only selenium toning 1:25. I like both this one and the previous toned version, they are so different in real life.

Like this leaf, with no will of my own, I have to go away for a while... sometimes the stream is just too strong, it´s better to just follow and concentrate on staying afloat, than tamper with powers greater than you.

This Olympus Trip 35 is one of the bunch of old compact analogue cameras I bought yesterday at a recycle shop. Not to collect and not to shoot with (most probably don't even work), but to make macros of. Funny thing about this camera is that it doesn't need batteries to operate because it is solar-powered!!!
The Trip 35 was a 35mm compact camera, introduced in 1967 and discontinued, after a lengthy production run, in 1984. The Trip name was a reference to its intended market — people who wanted a compact, functional camera for holidays. Over ten million units were sold.
The Trip 35 was a point and shoot model, with a solar-powered selenium light meter, and just two shutter speeds. In 'A' mode, the camera operated as an automatic Program, choosing either 1/40th sec or 1/200th sec. The camera could also sync with flash, and had a range of aperture settings, from f2.8 to f22. In flash sync mode the shutter was set at 1/40. Apart from a simple four-position zone focus system, and an ISO setting from 25–400, the camera had no other photographic controls. The camera had a PC sync connector and a hot shoe. Its lens was a coated Zuiko 40mm f/2.8, with four elements in three groups.

I've used the same image on Fabriano Artistico paper as before to be able to draw conclusions on the most common VDB toner options.
- The Selenium toner was diluted to an 1% solution and the toning time was under 1 min, just till the shadows start to change color. It is an incomplete toning, of course. The intention was only to see the change in color at a level of toning where the shadows are not blanched yet.
- The Gold/Thioureea toning was done to completion with fresh toner and it took ~10min.
The scaner doesn't do justice to the images. Especialy the Gold toned one has much deeper and richer shadows in reality.

I didn't exactly plan this. I was working on setting up to shoot the Milky Way with the kayaks in the foreground, my friend Doug happened to be standing with his tripod, but then these two vehicles showed up and blasted my test shot with headlights and tail lights and who knows what else. The tree branches hanging down were particularly orange. I didn't like them hanging there anyway, so this was the only image I shot. Getting rid of all the whacked-out color by converting to mono turned out not half bad I decided. Silver Efex conversion, heavy selenium toning.

Two years ago I bought my camera. Rolleiflex sl66 with a set of lenses. My black and white photographic journey has begun.
Ilford HP5 has become my favorite. I learned to develop it the way I like it, with little contrast, I try to make the image tonally the best possible, basically I use two developers: ilford DDX and Kodak d76.
On 3/8/2021 I printed my first silver gelatin print in my darkroom. No even the best computer screen can replace a real black and white print. In this album, I will include photos from the process of making my prints and the final result.
Thank you so much for visiting this place.
