The first segment and the knee have been permanently attached, as the struts are glued into the axles. The struts are there to keep the knee from rotating when the first segment is bent.
Although it is observational, this piece is not the most accurate drawing of my appearance, compared to my other self portraits. However it is the most realistic representation of how I see myself as an individual. I intended to create more than just an observational portrait, and to have a meaning. I decided to divide my work into segments, representing pieces of my life, experience, ideas or perceptions of myself. Using watercolour, I used tranquil blues and desaturated colors to reflect my personality. What the piece represents for me is my life and identity.

Southall station on 4th September 2023 with 66716 arriving with a 09.36 Grain Foster Yeoman Terminal to Brentford Town Sidings GBRf working. The train has just crossed from the Down Relief, over the main lines, and into Southall West Loop, prior to running round its train before taking the branch line to Brentford. The wagons are HYA hoppers, branded for Nacco, an American holding company based in Cleveland, Ohio operating under three business segments: Coal Mining, North American Mining, and Minerals Management.
Beyond the bridge, on the south side of the tracks is the Southall Railway Centre, at this point in its history used by Locomotive Services Limited, which maintains and operates several locomotives here, including those owned by the Royal Scot Locomotive and General Trust. LS leases Roads 1 and 2 (those closest to the mainline) from Network Rail. West Coast Railways also use the site as an operational base for several of its preserved mainline-registered steam locomotives, and it sees frequent ECS movements in connection with railtours starting or finishing in the London area. The Great Western Railway Preservation Group previously operated at the site, but this formally liquidated in September 2021. Nowadays, instead of Prairies, Panniers, and Kings, the former depot is more usually host to West Coast’s maroon Class 47s and 33s, although on this occasion the only locomotive in sight is 08737, owned by LS, which is stabled close enough to the station to whet the appetite, but obscured by enough bushes and infrastructure to preclude a photograph.
Individual stave of maple & cherry on left await a glue-up. The staves on the right have been glued w/ titebond II and are clamped using masking tape. This glue-up will form the sides of a bowl.

This Sphecodes species is approx 2/3rds of the size of the much large Sphecodes albilabris. This specimen was found in the dunes of Oostduinkerke

The first segments are (mostly) completed. The distal ends have been attached and the whole thing is covered with cardboard from a Seagate disk drive box.
Given a closer look this old stone house was built in two segments. There is evidence for this separation when looking to the right of the front door different stone patterns can be seen. The house was expanded to resemble a symmetrical 5 over 5 house, with central staircase. The rear side of the house is nonsymmetrical, containing 4 corner windows, one central offset window and two doors. The offset window would look over the central staircase and the door would be opposite the front door. There is also a doorway on the right-hand side of the house, in the place of a window. There is no ornate pattern of stone construction, such as fanning over the windows, however on the larger section of the house large stones form the corners of the structure; this may indicate that it was the original structure, and the presence of the staircase in this section may add to the same conclusion. In the front of the larger section of the house there is also an entrance to a cellar, possibly at one time covered by a porch and later cement was added in front of the smaller section. An adjacent structure was present behind the house on the right hand side. Little is left of the floor of the interior, note the wood pile in the front of the house. This is a very interesting old house which shows some years of neglect and deterioration, but the sturdy stone walls are still standing.

random spot above treeline (Collegiate West 03) to Alpine Tunnel (Collegiate West 04)
If I thought that last climb was hard ... the downhill to Tincup Pass Rd was no joke. Still above treeline were more switchbacks. These reminded me of Walter's Wiggles in Zion NP, short and steep. But that wasn't the tough part. Once below treeline, there must've been 50 or more switchbacks. I thought I would never make it to the bottom.
But I did make it. Tincup Pass Rd is a dirt road which I reckon leads to Tincup Pass. It is also the start of Collegiate West Segment 04. I took a nice long lun/din break before heading up.
