Remember a special Italian Spinone with a tiny bead-embroidered dog pendant on sterling silver chain! Tiny glass seed beads were stitched to felt (2-3 at a time) to create this unique dog jewelry. Tiny beaded fringe was layered to make his face look dimensional. Several different shades of brown seed beads were used, as well as tiny glass doll eyes. Beadwork is backed with Ultrasuede and signed by The Lone Beader. This is a unique gift idea for any dog-lover!

I've made quite a few of these in several colors. It's a beautiful pattern, and fun to make. The pattern is Woven Crystals by Deborah Wells in Bead and Button's Beading Stitches Basics.

Last night I “needed” to knit lace with beads. The only size 8/0 seed beads I had enough of for the project, were multi-colored. At first I thought using them was a silly idea, but I had some white Zephyr that I thought might work, so I cast on and started adding beads. At 3 am, I had to put it down and go to sleep! I am loving both the pattern and the colorful beads so much!

The reason I’m calling my scarf ‘Angel Food Cake’, is because it reminds me of angel food cakes my great grandmother used to bake. She’d add colored sprinkles to the white, fluffy batter, and when the finished cake was sliced, each piece had colored speckles, just like my scarf.

I found this pattern, called Cinderella's Fairy Godmother Scarf", on Ravelry. Here's a link to the designer's free pattern: www.purlescence.co.uk/storytellers/cinderella/cind_godm_s...

Asymmetrical Seahorse Bracelet

finished 15 December, 2009

This bracelet was made for a trade with another Etsy seller. In order to bring the price point down for the trade, I used copper wire instead of silver, and seed beads for the seahorse, instead of gemstones. I did incorporate gemstones into the design, as well, but using glass beads helped make this bracelet more affordable, while still allowing me to put a lot of time into the intricacies of the design.

Material: 14 mm Swarovski rivoli vitrail volcano, Toho treasures 11/0 #245, Toho rocailles 15/0 #222. Technique: based on a curved ribbon by Rosa Estévez Meco seen at img27.imageshack.us/img27/7954/dsc01632uoa.jpg, seen at Histoire des Perles. Rosa was very kind to provide the instructions for her ribbon. The back looks exactly like the front, except for the foil on the rivoli. Oolitic Jasper, seed beads and freshwater pearls

A photo post card I am sending out to promote our local Artists' Studio Tour.

I drew inspiration from Regina Rioux's blogged chrysanthemum pattern to crochet a Homecoming Mum Wrist Corsage back in Oct.'15.

This one is in size #20 crochet thread and I used a 1.5 mm steel hook. Added tiny seed beads in the center too, I think they were size 10º seed beads, or else 12º.

The bracelet strap was $1 at JoAnn Fabrics.

The Ravelry page and story for this project: ravel.me/vashtirama/c1

Finished four of the butterflies for a larger project. They were woven on a Mirrix loom from size 11 beads. The warp and weft is Fireline fishing line.

I do all the work in these buttons. The polymer clay centers are what I call "Stacker Cabs", a version of my Stacker beads. And the seed bead embroidery is also my work. They have shanks embedded in the back.

After sitting on the good news for months, I can finally announce that my beads were used in a winning necklace for Bead Star 2009!

Lorelei Eurto used my Apocalypto beads in her stunning necklace which took 3rd place in the Plastics category in Bead Star 2009. I'm thrilled! Thanks, L! Now, if we could just get them to create a new and suitable category for polymer clay and let resin and Lucite have the "Plastics" category all to themselves!

Bead Star 2009 should be out on the newsstands now. Check out all the other great winners!

These beads are available in sets on my Etsy site: www.storiestheytell.etsy.com
