Germany's second largest airline, Air Berlin is a primary competitor to Lufthansa... The company was found back in 1978 before commencing regular flights in 1979. Today, the company is partly owned by Etihad Airways with 29.1% shares in the company.
Air Berlin has recently suffered from major losses within the company and is in the midst of restructuring which has already seen the fleet being simplified to an all-Airbus fleet. The Boeing 737 fleet is slowly being wound down whilst the Airbus A320 family becomes the short-haul work-horse, and the Airbus A330 forming the long-haul fleet.
The short-haul fleet continues to gain momentum however, there are 70 Airbus A320 family aircraft in regular service, which include 5 Airbus A319's, 46 Airbus A320's and 19 Airbus A321's. Currently, there is an order for 6 more Airbus A320's... 3 more are to arrive from China Eastern, one from Alitalia (a number have made their way from the Italian carrier) and 2 are brand new to arrive from Airbus.
Alpha Bravo Foxtrot Golf is one of 46 Airbus A320's in service with Air Berlin, delivered new to the carrier in May 2010, currently on lease from Investec and she is powered by 2 CFM International CFM56-5B4/3 engines.

The sugar season in the Burdekin is on the cusp of closing. Invicta, Pioneer and Kalamia have finished crushing with Inkerman left with five days of cane. PN operated 6Q50 to load the remainder of Kalamia Mill's Molasses. 8802 was tasked with the role, seen working the return service 6J51 out of Brandon hauling 16 RNWY 40 foot flats with AMLU tanktainers.
Christ's Resurrection Basiilica (Lithuanian: Kauno mūsų Viešpaties Jėzaus Kristaus Prisikėlimo bazilika) in Lithuania's second city, Kaunas, was consecrated in 2004 and finished in 2005. It is located on a hill immediately to the north of the city centre and is on a monumental scale, with the main tower rising to 70 metres.
After Lithuania regained independence in 1918, the concept of a new church that would express gratitude to God for its regained freedom arose. A committee led by president Antanas Smetona was established in 1926 to oversee its construction. The City of Kaunas was chosen as its site, since the historic capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, was part of Poland between 1920 and 1939. A design competition was held in 1928 and the proposal drawn up by Karolis Reisonas was chosen for the church as the best. Due to the technical difficulties arising from the grand scope of the design, and dramatic escalation of its cost estimates, the final design was not approved until 1933.
The first cornerstone for the church was brought from Jerusalem's Mount Olive in 1934, marking the church's first symbolic milestone. Funds for the construction were raised in Lithuania and abroad. The prominent Lithuanian parson Feliksas Kapočius was particularly involved not only in the details of the building project, but also in its funding. He traveled through the United States, where many Lithuanian émigrés were living, to enlist support. The construction underwent several setbacks, and at times was suspended for lack of funding.
In 1936 certain Czechoslovak architects from Prague said that the church will become a masterpiece of modern architecture in the Baltics.[2] In 1938 the walls and roof of the church were completed, and by 1940 it was largely finished; at this point around one million litas had been spent, most of it from individual donations. Further work on the church was suspended during World War II. The Nazi occupational authorities used the church as a storeroom; during the Soviet period of Lithuanian history, the building was confiscated by the government. In 1952 Stalin decreed that it be used as a factory; the cross atop the tower was demolished, as was the chapel.
The church structure was used as a radio factory until the Lithuanian national awakening in 1988. Soon thereafter, control of the church was returned to a newly founded council. During the 1990s, its rehabilitation met with further obstacles; church and state had been officially separated, and Lithuanian citizens struggled with economic downturns during the transition to a market economy. In any event, the work continued. Funding was provided by both private sources and the Lithuanian government, and the church was consecrated in 2004.
In 2015 the church received the minor basilica title from Pope Francis.

1521 Second Avenue is one of Seattle’s newest skyrises completed in 2008 and is the highest residential skyrise in the city. It is very reminiscent of the style of highrise condominiums that are going up in nearby Bellevue, Washington. Even though this is not one of Seattle’s taller skyscrapers the building still stands out because of its frontward location and the gorgeous hue of blue that it displays. Now only if Seattle will construct a shimmering emerald green building to honor the city’s nickname, all would be well. It can be easy to get this skyscraper and Two Union Square a little confused if you are just viewing the top portions of them without any perspective of height or size. The Monorail Station was proposed for this site until the city voted it down in 2005. Want to purchase a condo? They begin at just $1 million and reach as high as $4 million. The North Western was a great buyer of used power in the 1970's & 80's to replace their older power. On January 8, 1985, CNW No 482 rolled through Minnesota City, just 5.7 miles west of Winona, MN, with former Burlington Northern SD45's. Leader CNW 6589 began life as CBQ 530 and then became BN 6471 before coming to the CNW. Trailing CNW 657 started out as GN 421 then BN 6451 before the CNW.

HI everyone, sorry it has been so long,this is just to say i am still here, we have had health issues one serious and is on going at the moment. I became involved with Painting Rocks and a friend challenged me to do a painting ,well here are the results.I am about to start my third :) I hope you are all well and have a fab 2019 I will see you soon xx
