At my gym, they put up a new bouquet of flowers each week on the side I go into, and in a few days it gets transferred to the other side; at the end of the week, it gets thrown out. So I arranged to pick up one of them on Monday before it got thrown out, and these daisies were in the mix. More to follow. I'm not much of a horticulturist, but wife has a cum laude degree in horticulture (U. of Md.), and she identified these as "some kind of daisy." (I generally name flowers by their colors.) And OBTW, this is the result of a 13 image focus stack, so feel free to get very, very close.
The City of Coimbra is a city and a municipality in Portugal. The first Portuguese university was established in 1290 in Lisbon and its relocated to Coimbra in 1308, making it the oldest academic institution in the Portuguese-speaking world. Apart from attracting many European and international students, the university is visited by many tourists for its monuments and history. Its historical buildings were classified as a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 2013.

I cannot get enough of seeing our second stage from the Dragon spacecraft. That small cylinder propelled us into Earth orbit and allowed us to catch up with the International Space Station. It burns up harmlessly in a controlled re-entry, whereas the first stage lands back on Earth. Meanwhile the Dragon spacecraft that they both pushed is safely docked with us on the International Space Station! Teamwork!
Je ne me lasse pas de revoir le 2e étage du Falcon 9 qui nous a propulsés dans l'espace. C'est le cylindre blanc que vous voyez : il va faire peu de temps après une entrée contrôlée dans l'atmosphère afin de se désintégrer sans danger. Le premier étage s'était déjà posé sain et sauf sur Terre à ce moment là (enfin, sur une barge !) Et nous avons continué notre route à bord du Dragon, d'où la vidéo a été prise, jusqu'à l'amarrage à la Station spatiale internationale le lendemain.

Funny story, So I feed my cat at 6am every morning (when he wakes me up like clockwork, he tells time better than I do!, of course). I usually ask him if he is ready for breakfast...he definitley has come to know what "breakfast" means, which is followed by him leading me to the kitchen to unpack a package of wet food, (usually tuna or chicken), his favorites.
So about 10am after reading news, emails and playing some solitaire on the pc, I stand up and say to myself out loud, i'm going to go make me some breakfast (obviously an error in judgement, lesson learned). Well, someone's radar was actiovated and he heard the the magical word from wherever he was hiding and napping and came running like a bolt of lighting (GO Chargers!) thinking that his first breakfast was merely a dress rehearsal. He thought he deserves second breakfast! AND, he got it, of course. ROFL. How can you deny those sweet little eyes and mews that suggest he hasn't eaten in days tragically.... and him tugging at my gym shorts pulling them down as he climbs up and meows....and was most defintetly was laughing to himself. At this point, resistance is futile, you might as well grab the scoop before he decides to "sing" the song of his people at maximum volume waking up the whole apartment building. According to the official Statutes of Shadow, the first meal was just a "glitch in the Matrix," and Second Breakfast is the only true way to start the day right.
Later I recieved this email from an anonymous source of his intentions of eating pattern throughout the day. Dear server, from here on out our client will be expecting his meals served at Breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner and of course supper. It was only signed (from a concerned citizen) and..or else! Hmmm
He then proceeded to the bed and fell asleep inthis position. What a life! Hahaa

We took some pictures of me in this a few weeks ago. But when I looked at them it looked more like I was about to be shot than enjoying myself. These are much better :D

Pentax ME Super, Rikenon 50mm F2.0, negative ISO 100 exposed as 100, developed with reversal processing as described before ( 1st: Korectol + KSCN 0.2g/500ml for 3minutes and 40 seconds at 30 Deg.C., scanned with Plustek OpticFilm 120 + VueScan, edited with GIMP.
I do miss Chicago, just not living and working there. Great art scene and performance arenas, excellent museums and installations, beautiful architecture and expansive skyline, and above all the phenomenal food. Chicago is where I go to just chill and have fun.
So for a long time I left SL, abandoned my avi, didn't speak to friends and family. But I returned, and I've been thinking about giving this photography stuff a go again. So I'll just sit here, and drink my cup of tea (oh so British of me), and think about whether I want to do this or not.
We had just booked into our overnight accommodation in North Iceland and were ready for bed. The only trouble was our bedroom window had a panoramic view over skagafjordur, (fjord), and its delta. On this particular night the sky was literally on fire as the setting sun tried, but ultimately failed, to drop below the horizon. We were treated to a fireworks display that lasted for hours as the sun tracked across the mouth of the Fjord. We pulled up a couple of chairs and sat there looking out of the window in awe.
Skagafjörður is about 40 km long and 15 km wide, situated between Tröllaskagi to the east and the Skagi Peninsula to the west. This is one of Iceland's most prosperous agricultural regions, with widespread dairy and sheep farming in addition to the horse breeding for which the district is famed. Skagafjörður is the only county in Iceland where horses outnumber people.
It is a centre for agriculture, and some fisheries are also based in the settlements of Sauðárkrókur and Hofsós. The people living in Skagafjörður have a reputation for choir singing, horsemanship, and gatherings. There are three islands in the bay: Málmey, Drangey and Lundey (Puffin Island).
The bay is located in a submerged glacial valley which is continued southwards by a plain in which lies the delta of the Héraðsvötn river. The main settlement of this valley is Varmahlíð.

Kids of all ages take turns diving off this bridge along the road from Oak Bluffs to Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard. This is known as "Second Bridge" or just simply as "the jumping bridge." It was a rainy day when I captured this shot but not enough to deter the summer fun.

Today's the big day!!!!
MOVING DAY...
With moving comes mixed emotions. Am I sad to leave the neighborhood and all my friends? Yes. Am I excited to leave the drama and gossip of the neighborhood? YES.
It's been a long time coming, but boxing up my life and moving to my new house will be worth it in the long run.

I'm honor to have Dennis in my "365 Photography Project"
He's my 1st photography teacher/mentor. I learned so much from him over the years and I continue to do so. He's an awesome teacher and friend. I love his passion for photography, he's the kind of photographer that evolves with times, he likes to keep up with the trends. His personality can't be any better. He's great with people, professional and hard working. I'm happy to hear that he will be teaching photography classes pretty soon in some local High Schools.
