The second solar powered electric bus at the Big Lemon is Optare Solo DK06 OKD seen having arrived in the depot yesterday fresh from conversion. This Solo is slightly smaller then the others but still has the same full interior refurb but this one unlike the others has USB charging points.

Jacko Fijn Techniek: the diesel shunter 9702 (98 84 8283 604-2 NL-JFT), operated by Rail Force One, shunting in Amersfoort station.
During the Second World War, London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) built 20 three-axle diesel shunters, six for themselves (7120-7126), and fourteen for the British War Department (numbers 70260-70273). Of these, ten were sold to the Dutch railways NS after de WWII (70260-70269), where they received the numbers 501-510 in 1946. Due to the good results of these shunters, the NS decided to purchase another 115 of new construction. Manufactured by English Electric, they were received between 1949 and 1957 being numbered 511-545 (without continuous brake for the train), 601-665 (with continuous brake for the train) and 701-715 (with Stork-Thomassen diesel engines). The 125 shunters were withdrawn from service progressively between 1969 and 1991.
Several units were later sold to British tourist railways or Dutch private companies. Among them, five were sold to Rotterdam Rail Feeding, where they were numbered as RRF 1 to RRF 5 (former NS 684, 689, 679, 676, 683, respectively). In 2013, the RRF 4 and RRF 5 shunters passed into the hands of LOCON Benelux B.V. They were repaired and renumbered as 9702 and 9701, respectively. Finally, in 2017 Jacko Fijn Techniek acquired the 9702. It is currently carrying out shunting movements of automobile trains between Amersfoort and Leusden PON for Rail Force One.

The other day, while the wife was sleeping, I pulled a few images out of the archives to use when I was in a rush. They’re all second-string images — I always use the one I think best for the day. Birch Wood L&D Presents: Bailie Estates! Welcome to Bailie Estates! A wonderful little community abuzz with the laughter of young and old alike.
