Not only did I get a bonus shot of Via #70 while set up for CPR #246 but CN #148 burst on to the scene running earlier than usual (at least for recent times) with a very clean C40-8 2033 on the point. Once upon a time (yes that's how the MLW fairy tale starts) 2033 would have been a C-630 on CN but in 2016 this will do just fine!

Dating from September 1969, this is one of my final photos taken with my original camera, a Kodak Bantam that used VP828 film that offered just eight exposures per roll. Hull Corporation AEC Regent/Park Royal OTV157 was one of 30 acquired second-hand from Nottingham City Transport. It is seen in Stoneferry Road, an industrial area immediately to the east of the River Hull where several oil processing companies were located. The ex-Nottingham buses saw out KHCT conductor operation: KHCT became a 100% one-person operation in late 1972.

1st Call Travel of Merthyr Tydfil has recently acquired a second Plaxton Centro-bodied Volvo B7RLE - YN08 NXK - in one of the post GHA Coaches auctions. This follows the original example that arrived in September 2016, though has seen little service.

She was new to a Staffordshire operator and also saw service with Tanat Valley in 2013 and 2014, though was withdrawn after sustaining accident damage. Subsequently acquired by GHA for spares, she has evidently been rebuilt for further service.

Yet to receive fleetname vinyls, she is exiting Merthyr Tydfil Bus Station in mid January 2017 when operating Services X75/X5A (Merthyr Tydfil-Glynneath-Neath-Swansea) on the Saturday working that had frequently been home to the wonderful M427 RRN in December 2016.

Second Nauvoo Temple by R Pahre

This is the second temple on the site. The first, begun in 1841, was not yet finished when Joseph Smith was killed in 1844. Brigham Young continued work on the first floor so that it could be dedicated, even as he was making plans to lead the Mormons to Utah.

The original temple was heavily damaged by a tornado in 1850. The townspeople used its materials for construction over the years until the town destroyed it completely in 1865. The current building was constructed in 1999-2002.
