We found this nice seashell on the beach after the storm with kids anther day. It was just a tiny bit open but kids wanted to see what was inside so they opened it up :) it was empty, of course, but I love the curvy patterns on the inner side. While browsing through the internet I found this great poem about an open seashell.
The Sea Shell
I have hidden inside a sea shell
but forgotten in which.
Now daily I dive,
filtering the sea through my fingers,
to find myself.
Sometimes I think
a giant fish has swallowed me.
Looking for it everywhere I want to make sure
it will get me completely.
The sea-bed attracts me, and
I’m repelled by millions
of sea shells that all look alike.
Help, I am one of them.
If only I knew, which.
How often I’ve gone straight up
to one of them, saying: That’s me.
Only, when I prised it open
it was empty.

Thanks for stopping by. I truly appreciate your comments. Thanks so much.
Went to the westcoast on vacation.
Never seen so many puddles of seashells on the shore.
The kids played that they were "treasures", carrying them around from place to place for hours.
Oh, those childhood summers...
I photographed seashells a couple of years ago, but couldn't resist having another go. I love the colours in this shell and have used a shallow depth of field to enhance it.
Iced in buttercream with fondant accents, white chocolate seashells/horses. Thanks to helipops on CC for inspiration.
Just a few seashells that were found many years ago by our children on the Florida beaches ... I might find a few more, soon!!

Baloy Beach, Olongapo
Although prohibited, there are still quite a few fishermen in the Philippines who dive for and sell seashells to augment their meager incomes.
This is a seashell that somebody left up at the porch. I'm trying to take as many pictures at Briny before it all disappears
the dinosaurs.
TAKEBU, the artist and a friend of mine,
created them with seashells he collected on the beach.
And I shot this photo.
I am going to have a group exhibition with him next year.
