Swept in during the daily barrage of high tide and coastal storms, shells appear in such a quantity that they block sight of the sandy beach underneath.

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a green day at Color my World Daily and luckily for me I have some archives pictures for this awesome day !

Yesterday, I had a spontaneous supper with my parents and there was not enough time for taking pictures for a green day or answering you awesome comments !! I apologize my friends and I will try to catch up as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, who knew than an old eggshell and an old seashell look so awesome together ? I didn’t… at least not until taking this picture !!

Mucho, mucho amor for you all !! Have a beautiful day my friends!! See you later!!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a green day at Color my world Daily and I’m rather busy so we will have to celebrate with a picture from my archives. Of course it involves an egg BUT also my old seashells from Cuba. I love seeing the contrasting textures: the smoothness of the egg vs the rugged surface of what is left from the seashell. Just for your information, those seashells are super heavy. I had to get rid of at least one bottle of rhum to make some extra space in my suitcase for my seashells. I know that you are not supposed to bring seashells back but I couldn’t resist. And frankly, today I dont regret it since it its like having a piece of Cuba here with me…

Today, I have to work so no laundry folding for me lol ! But i will try to run since I’m in the middle of another crazy Apple watch challenge (this time I have to walk or run 400 km during this month and so far I did 261 km …. I will win this badge, no matter what, I swear !!!).

Mucho, mucho amor for you all !! And see you soon !!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a green day at Color my World Daily and I’m very grateful for my photographic archives ! Since we are officially in the « green zone », we had a surprise visite from my parents yesterday… Of course we had plenty to celebrate since I hit my Apple Watch monthly goal of 469,4 km ! Yes, my friends : I did it ! Unfortunately my feet feel like the seashell in my picture and I’m not sure if I will be able to walk tomorrow but tonight I feel awesome !

I just have one very annoying question on my mind: what is the next challenge ?? Honestly this one was very hard to complete and I’m not sure I will be able to walk more lol. I guess we will have to wait until midnight to know the next challenge…

I apologize for not answering all you awesome comments, I had too much wine tonight … I will catch up as soon as possible my friends ! I’m still on vacation, so that is my excuse for now ;-) !

HMM!

Macro Mondays: Natural Shells.

Unfortunately I don't have time to go into the woods looking for mushrooms and fungi. That is why I present to you my variation on the autumn theme. As you understand, these shells cannot be found on Dutch beaches.

Llandanwg Beach sits between the towns of Barmouth and Harlech on the southern side of Tremadog Bay. It is also part of the wider Snowdonia National Park and situated close to the pretty Afon Dwyryd estuary.

The sand dunes to the back of the beach conceal the tiny church of Saint Tanwg which dates from the 13th century. A small path winds through the dunes and leads you to the beach from the central car park area or you can take a trail from Cardigan Bay. As you sit on the pristine sands you will also be able to enjoy vistas of the rugged Rhinog Mountains in the distance.

The beach here shelves gently into the sea making this a good place to swim, although there is no lifeguard so care should be taken. When the tide is low, it reveals a causeway out to pretty Mochras which is also known by its local nickname of Shell Island due to the plethora of different hued shells found on the its beach.

Due to its strategic position, Llandanwg Beach is shielded from the well known Welsh winds which can be a little fresh at times meaning that you can enjoy this area even in the off-season. The beach is also well-loved by locals including fisherman who come here for the plentiful supplies of bass, mackerel, flatfish, and dogfish. With that in mind keen anglers will find plenty to do here, or you can explore dainty rock pools or simply go for a stroll on the soft, pristine sand.

Amenities at Traeth Llandanwg include disabled access and the village is also home to the quaint Y Maes Cafe close to the beach which operates from June to October

Happy Macro Monday.
