Seashells come in two varieties. Gastropods...as above, are univalve seashells that are not hinged or joined together. Bivalve seashells...which are two (2) piece shells that are hinged/joined (e.g. clams, scallops, cockles, etc.)

Tide was comming in, barely trickling up the beach, giving time to get some very nice minimalist shots of shells in the waves of the sand, just about to be submerged.
Couldn't decide until the last minute to use the colour or mono edit for todays 365 image.

Never thought the gray colour is soo variable! Every stone is a gem, every seashell is precious. All those things have a hidden marks of their previous owners and neighbours, little spots and tiny tones of colour. It was so much fun to paint it!
