Seashells

The title of this picture is Seashell Portrait. The theme of this picture is Asbury Park Field Trip. A principle of design that sticks out is emphasis. There is emphasis in this picture because Sophie is the focal point, while the beach in the background is unfocused. For camera settings I shot at f/22, 100 ISO, and 1/60. I did not do anything to edit this photo. I like this photo because the beach is one of my favorite places, and the fact that she is wearing a hood and a scarf and is all bundled up makes it a different picture than you usually seen taken at the beach. I also like this picture because I really enjoyed doing portraits and I think its cool that you can make them your own by deciding a pose or deciding where you want to take the picture.

Gazing at this Staten Island beach makes me feel calm. But, trying to quickly say this children's tongue twister does not:) "She sells seashells by the seashore. The shells she sells, are surely seashells. So if she sells shells. On the seashore, I'm sure she sells."

I made it at Jana Roberts Benson's workshop

at the beach, Świnoujście, Usedom Island, Baltic Sea, Poland

At Pottery Barn I purchased some Moss and I had these Seashells from my wedding decor. So I decided to make use of these glass containers I had....this will tide me over till I turn the one with the spout into some sort of terrarium :)
