Collecting Shells...June prompt day 2 ...seashells...I was such a beachcomber as a child ...loved the little tidalpools to watch tiny sea life , the gulls cries, the picnic basket, the salty breezes, the surf washing sound, finding sand dollars, the packed wet sand by the water, the smell of the wild roses would tell me we were getting close to the beach when my Dad would take us a lot...Higgens, Popham and oh the fun of Old Orchard and the pier walk...shells I would paint and set them on the steps like a sort of exhibit..hey, those were my first attempts with watercolor!

I love the rich colour and tones of this seashell. Bit wet on the beach today so I put it on a sheet of sandpaper for effect. Again, a shallow DOF.

I got this throw pillow from the China Closet in Disneyland last Sunday. It costs $35 and is part of the Fairy Tales and Seashells Collection by Disney Parks Merchandise. The cover is made of a canvas like material. On the front side are the embroidered words "Seas the Moment" and a printed Ariel swimming below it. On the back side is a repeating printed nautical design, including seahorses.
