I woke up really early to take this picture so that I could use the very first light of the day. Fortunately, the water wasn't absolutely as cold as I expected, but it was quite difficult to stand still, 'cause the water was dragging me and I stood with the candelabra and the fish tank trying not to get too wet. Plus, I'm not really a friend of being in the sea (neither swimming pools). But I achieved the image I wanted, wohoo!
Special thanks to Yguarina, a good friend of mine and photographer, who was human tripod and shutter for this image, and got really wet because of it... Sorry Ygua!

A sea of seashells
I must have walked past this scene a few dozen times. But until I slowed down, I didn’t really notice it.

I built myself a light box and had fun taking photos of my sea shelll collection in it, one shell at a time.

Il est de tradition à Tahiti pour les arrivées d'offrir des colliers ou couronnes de fleurs. Les partants reçoivent plutôt des couronnes de Coquillages à l'image de celles-ci. #Macro #MacroMondays #Necklace

The other side of Henley Jetty for this shot from yesterday and again no HDR on this. A very interesting sunset yesterday, didn't get one today due to the cloud. Looks like the sun might be out for the weekend. Will try and catch on others streams a little later on or tomorrow afternoon.
Enjoy

Seashell (Scala)
Take my hand and come walk with me
down towards the enchanting sea.
I'll run laughing across the sand.
You'll just smile 'cause you understand.
Watch the sun kiss the rising sea,
trembling sparkles of ecstasy.
Waves break, simmer, and then renew,
just as sometimes a heart can do.
I walked the full length of the beach until
I found the most beautiful seashell.
Fragments of all the things you've said
smile tenderly in my head.
Beaming sun is still trying to
burn the way that I burn for you.
Feel the waves as they fall and rise.
Breathe in deeply and close my eyes.
Let me not ever wake from this
precious moment of perfect bliss.
I walked the full length of the beach until
I found the most beautiful seashell.
Stay here with me
down by the sea.
For the others there on that beach
our heaven was out of reach.
They heard only the dolphins' cries.
We heard music and angels' sighs.
We gazed out to the horizon,
sea and sky melting into one.
Whispered line where the blue meets blue.
Just as vague as where I meet you.
In the wake of that golden day
memories still take my breath away.
I touched heaven when you touched me
down beside the enchanting sea.
I walked the full length of the beach until
I found the most beautiful seashell, for me.
Sunset glows.
Come with me.
One last race
to the sea.

Breakage by Mary Oliver
"I go down to the edge of the sea.
How everything shines in the morning light!
The cusp of the whelk,
the broken cupboard of the clam,
the opened, blue mussels,
moon snails, pale pink and barnacle scarred—
and nothing at all whole or shut, but tattered, split,
dropped by the gulls onto the gray rocks and all the moisture gone.
It's like a schoolhouse
of little words,
thousands of words.
First you figure out what each one means by itself,
the jingle, the periwinkle, the scallop full of moonlight.
Then you begin, slowly, to read the whole story."
Good morning. With it being a Saturday I thought I would add a new seashell to the "Seashells and other treasures from the deep blue sea" series, being this peppermint cone seashell. As with all my seashell pictures it was photographed using natural ambient light.
Take care...and I hope everyone has a great weekend.
