A break from my holiday snaps to share a Selfie Sunday shot! We decided to walk Lina from Tim's Mum's house to the seafront for a lunch next to the beach. Was rather sticky and hot out, but Lina behaved well.
Some very modern buildings appearing by the beach at Aberavon Sands, Port Talbot. Still a work in progress I think when this picture was taken.
Plymouth seafront before the second day of the National Fireworks Competition. The lights beaming into the sky come from the fairground on the hoe.
Blackpool Transport 347 passing through Bispham on its way Blackpool & St Annes just just ten days before 9/11, the day that changed the world forever.
Saturday 1st September 2001.
Ice creams, refreshments, games for the beach and a tattoo studio, everything you need for a trip to the seaside.

These two photos are for Sarah - how funny that we were both along the seafront today, taking the same photos!! We can't have missed each other by much, as we saw the campervans arrive and buy their beverages from the Coffee Cup cafe!
Tim and I enjoyed a sunny time at our beach while Kez (the Borrower) housesat Harbie as a trial. We decided it would be easier for her to get to know him in our house before she tried him in her flat. It was quite hard to know what to do as we said we wouldn't be too far away if she needed us. We bought a cup of tea and some shortbread and sat here for a bit people-watching near South Parade Pier. JJ went to Brighton.
Here are people doing 'peopley' things!!

To me these early evening shots of the seafront between Brighton and Hove look like they could be Venice Beach or Santa Monica. Is that just because I've taken similar photos in those places or do they look to you that they were taken somewhere more exotic.

From Wikipedia : "Hove is a seaside resort in the county of East Sussex. It is a constituent part of the city of Brighton and Hove, created in 2001 from the formerly separate towns of Hove and Brighton. Originally a "small but ancient fishing village" surrounded by farms, it grew rapidly in the 19th century in response to the development of its eastern neighbour Brighton, and by the Victorian era it was a fully developed town with borough status. Neighbouring parishes such as Aldrington and Hangleton were annexed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1997, as part of local government reform, the borough merged with Brighton to form the Borough of Brighton and Hove, and this unitary authority was granted city status in 2000."

The first of the Seafront Sundays for 2023 was today. This lady was enjoying the music on Crown Pier and joined in during their cover of The Rolling Stones 'Ruby Tuesday'.
A place that looks much better in photographs than it actually is. Sadly it is an area that has lost its way. It is tatty and deteriorating. A shame because it could be vibrant and colourful seafront with a little work and imagination and of course money?
Almost the entire seafront captured in this one shot. It is easy to see why Largs is such a popular place to live and visit.
Going through my last summer's archives, I discovered this 5 sec long exposure. It was shot midday by stacking a ND8 and a ND4 filter (and possibly a circular polarizer).
