The Royal Citadel overlooks the seafront at Plymouth, on the eastern end of the Hoe and is rather more substantial than one (rear) door...

A selection of the properties alongside St Ives seafront, Cornwall. I was taken with the previous Salvation Army building on the left. This appears to have lost its fight -perhaps long ago- to remain as a place of worship amongst the ubiquitous cafes, pubs and souvenir shops.
Brighton Seafront 30th of October 2018. I was in Brighton overnight to watch David Byrne's American Utopia Tour and spent the bright Autumn afternoon walking the seafront and pier
I think this is the view towards Headon Warren. Been a long time since I've been out that way.

Tim, JJ and I took Dave out on a day trip to Brighton at the end of last month, and we decided to go and see what was happening with the building of the i360 Tower!
Quite similar to my previous upload but the light was so atmospheric I'm not going to leave this sat on my hard drive.......
There was a wonderfully chilled out vibe on the seafront as I walked between Brighton and Hove on August Bank Holiday weekend. Walking East to West as the sun set provided some lovely warm back-lighting.

From Wikipedia : "Hove is a seaside resort in the county of East Sussex. It is a constituent part of the city of Brighton and Hove, created in 2001 from the formerly separate towns of Hove and Brighton. Originally a "small but ancient fishing village" surrounded by farms, it grew rapidly in the 19th century in response to the development of its eastern neighbour Brighton, and by the Victorian era it was a fully developed town with borough status. Neighbouring parishes such as Aldrington and Hangleton were annexed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1997, as part of local government reform, the borough merged with Brighton to form the Borough of Brighton and Hove, and this unitary authority was granted city status in 2000."
