I must have come accross a meeting and they fled the scene before I could see them ... naturally an adult human such as myself would never be able to read the writing on the scroll so I"m left to imagine ...

taken in the Woodland Cemetary in West Philadelphia.

Inspired by the prolific ironwork in New Orleans, this simple scroll ring is forged and hand formed from antique cut nails.

All nails used have been hand pulled by me from houses undergoing renovation in the historic neighborhoods of New Orleans. Makes the perfect 6th anniversary gift, which traditionally is iron!

While knitting this, I kep thinking, this is too Victorian/feminine/old ladyish/purple. But now... I love it. It's a perfect spring rainy day sky gray. Like the one in the background.

I have only noticed this since the last set of updates to Firefox, but when I scroll up often the text tends to "greek" as in this image.

Three easy steps to make yourself a scroll

I'm experimenting on a piano scroll, first it was stablized with freezer paper, then inks were applied to the surface and then some shiva paintstiks. I plan to add encaustic medium to the surface next.

A write up (anchored scroll) on a brief but amazing time at The Bahama's One&Only Ocean Club. The main story and why I travelled down there will be out on a later date but to have the chance to do a resort site visit was dreamy (and to see how they've updated post-Hurricane Matthew). Not to mention the stunning property's connections to Bond and Beatles... and that all guests have a butler (hello, Nelson!).

look at the burnt saucepan set to see how how this came about

Inside these metal canisters are sacred Buddhistic scrolls. If you turn them around it counts as if you've read them. You gain alot of Karma by turning a few of these.

"This large Buddhist scroll from Buseoksa -- [it's about 15 ft. (4 m.) tall] -- was made for outdoor rituals. The scene of Sakyamuni's preaching at the Vulture Peak occupies the center of the painting. The Three Buddhas depicted in the upper part represent the Buddha's world that prevails in the universe beyond temporal and spatial boundaries. This iconography epitomizes the Joseon people's understanding of the Buddha, who appears to be numerous yet in fact is one."

Taken on a rainy, blustery day spent inside the warm (and rather impressive) National Museum of Korea.

Seoul, South Korea.

Depicting water falls and rocks.

My efforts to identify these images of scroll paintings on the Boston MFA website has failed dismally.
