I have no idea what this is or what it says. I'm not even sure that these shots are the right way up.
It belongs to a dear friend of mine who's father was in the middle east in the 40's/50's. So it may be from the middle east...Then again it could be in Elvish for all I know.
If you have an answer to what the language is or what it says, that would be peachy.
For all I know, it may just be someones shopping list...but I'm hoping it is the writings of Abdul Alhazred and this is The Necromicon !

Scroll reads Snow-cold night, no wind, but the bamboo has a voice. Flower is Sasanqua Jean May camellia and branch of native flowering currant in a George Gledhilll vase.

On the Road is one of the defining books of the Beat Generation.
Written over a period of three weeks in April 1951 in manic bursts of what Allen Ginsberg referred to as ‘spontaneous bop prosody’, Jack Kerouac typed the manuscript on rolls of tracing paper, which he taped together into a long scroll to avoid replacing paper at the end of the page and interrupting his creative flow.
We are delighted to welcome the 120-foot-long scroll to London for the first time. It will be on display in a specially-constructed case, alongside sound and printed materials from the Library’s collection.
