Dec. 29, 2024: Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. A reconstruction of the 1st century Sea of Galilee Boat found in 1986 along the Sea of Galilee.
This is a very small section of a scroll done in imitation of one of the images in the Visconti Hours. Done in gouache.

Scroll of Fire is a monument found in the Jerusalem hills, and it commemorates Jewish history from The Holocaust until Independence. The monument was inaugurated in 1971.
The initiative for the monument came from B'nai B'rith of the United States, and was funded by them. The monument was sculptured by the artist Nathan Rapoport, who is a Holocaust survivor.
One of the scrolls describes the Holocaust and the other describes independence. In the space between the two scrolls, there are two rooms of memorial, and in each one is engraved a quote from the bible.
The Alaskan Hotel is the oldest established hotel in Alaska. It is an old miners hotel in Juneau. The hotel has been refurbished, but in an attempt to keep the "feel" of times before. The rooms are still small miners rooms. And the hotel is located above the Alaskan Hotel Bar.....I had the privilege of falling asleep to some really great live music one night I stayed here. Seriously....no sarcasm intended.

European premiere TERMINATOR: GENISYS
The fifth installment of the science fiction film series "Terminator: Genisys" is set between 1984 and 2029 and shows how humans in the future fight against the machines in the resistance of John Connor (Jason Clarke).
To protect his mother Sarah from a time-traveling Terminator, John Connor sends his most loyal fighter, Kyle Reese, back in time. However, an unforeseen event has changed everything and Kyle finds himself in an alternate time where Sarah has been trained as a skilled warrior and has a Terminator T-800 at her side. Suddenly Kyle has a whole new mission: to restore the future.

I "found" it in the kiln. I like the shape and energy, just wish it would stand better on its own. Another garden gnome for our place in Cambridge. Fireplace ash and leaves embedded in the surface give it the wonderful pinkish color and random surface. Bisque fired.

January 8, 2019 - Traveling on Route 90 heading to Masada National Park. The Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 11 Qumran Caves located in the Judaean Desert on the northwestern shore of the Dead Sea. This photo shows the landscape of the area where the scrolls might have been found.
