Why are pirates grumpy?

Because they Arrrr.

Took this one with a 35mm back in high shcool, and it's still one of my favorites.

I came across Scroll and Ferdinand a few weeks back after they both were mentioned on various design blogs. In turn, I came across this fantastic site called MagCloud that sells all manner of magazines online. MagCloud is in beta (isn't everything) and has a few rough corners, but overall the buying experience was pleasant.

Ah.. at last I got it. It feels relieve for not studying again yet now I'm craving for another study. I miss reading journals that takes a long time to digest, I miss the arguments during the tutorial classes and heaps of discussion over nothingness or something. Click..clack..the mind should never stops thinking.

Ishinpo is Japan's oldest medical book. It was written by an acupuncturist and the original edition was presented to the emperor in 984. This edition was written in 1145.

The Bergonzi scroll more or less done - just the chin area to finalise when the neck is made ready for fitting to the body mortice. This is a new graft - with a figured neck stock onto a plain maple scroll block. The neck and chin are as yet unfinished - these are gradually blended into shape while perparing the neck for fitting to the body - and finalised after th neck joint is made.

We went to see the Dead Sea Scrolls - the oldest written record of the bible's scripture. The exhibit also put the scrolls in context, as it showcased the archeological dig, the Jewish culture in the time before Jesus' birth, and how the bible has evolved through the years - words on papyrus, later written in illuminated manuscripts and eventually printed as bound books.

Bethesda’s Tod Howard has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 is currently being developed.

Con dieci anni e passa d’esperienza alle spalle, i Carnaval dovrebbero prendervi a calci in culo senza troppa fatica, sempre se vi va: “it would be painful, but I guess you love the pain”, come dicono loro.

Last year was over the top, you may see for yourself here: www.flickr.com/photos/gruppotetris/albums

This year we open with something special.

CARNAVAL was formed in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2003 as a part of Pussyfinger music collective. Just like us here in Tetris, they have a strong commitment towards the DIY ethic, in fact their records are published under the Creative Commons license.

In May 2016 their EP, called “Big Fish” saw the light, after the 2012 “Tennis Football Basketball”, an LP, that was very well received and critically acclaimed around the world. From its first notes “Big Fish” sounds massively stoner, but soon you start hearing grunge influence, just like in their previous works. With over 10 years of creating and playing music under their belt, Carnaval will undoubtedly knock your socks of, as they say: “it would be painful, but I guess you love the pain”.

A fiddle made by my father...

Fiddle making has been in the family as my grandfather made the fiddles that both my dad and my uncle played all their lives. He made my dads the year he was born (1922) and then my uncles John`s the year he was born (1931)

My dad made the fiddle above, a copy of a Stradivarius Faciebat Anno, 16 years ago (started in 1998, finished in 1999) and not long after he finished it, he passed away. He played the fiddle several times before he became ill... he was very proud of it, it has a really rich, lovely tone to it. He left it to me and his own fiddle (the one made for him by his father) to my brother. I guess I`d better learn to play it now...

During the Festival these religious scrolls were decorating the side of Saint Johns church on Princes Stree

Today the Jodo Mission of Hawaii saw the return of its hand-painted Japanese hanging scroll. At least 60 years old and the second largest such artifact in Hawaii, it was fully restored by skilled Japanese artisans under the direction of Japan Memorial Corporation's Tatsuji Maeda, who presented the restoration work to the Jodo Mission board this morning. This prized artwork will be carefully stored and only displayed in the temple maybe twice a year. I'd love to hear from anyone who knows more about these scrolls, it was certainly an education for us (and a substantial investment).
