I am wearing a vintage 50s reconstructed lace dress (as a rule I would not take scissors to anything pre 70s unless it’s very damaged).
I bought this dress from a vintage boutique in Balham ten years ago to wear to a Halloween party.
The lace was quite threadbare in places so I gave the dress a complete makeover, reinforcing it with black tulle, cutting a slit & a peep hole to the front and then trimming them with black lace.
I also added a chain on the inside of the dress that is visible through the peep hole, I wanted to make it appear as if the chain was hanging from the wearers pierced nipples, just a little strange fancy of mine at the time.
The dress looks love worn but in a gorgeous way, I love it!
Here I’ve teamed it with a vintage 50s fur stole, DIY earrings & necklace inspired by Marc Jacobs & Givenchy respectively which I made myself, a pair of tights that got the rip treatment & a pair of platform heels that my lovely mum bought for me on tradera.se (Swedish eBay).

Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. Any comments or Faves are very much appreciated.
Braised pork belly, egg, spinach on rice with red thai curry sauce, yellow curry and brown gravy. Next time I'll add a breaded pork cutlet to this.
I honestly don't know what I'm doing or what Viktorya is doing either... she likes to stab her dolls apparently with sharp objects when her papa is not looking... lol
chrystiehill's photo of found scissors made me want to take one of my own. She had the scissors as a tiny little subject pointing toward the outside of the frame. I wanted to see if I could make an even more annoying picture by cutting off the tips. I don't think it's annoying enough though. I may try again. (Oh, no! I'm a poser.)

Nice wander round the artisan market and then onto the North West Phillumenists meet up at the Memorial Court ( on until 4 I think ). Excellent displays of cigarette and matchbox related ephemera and some going for very cheap prices. Hazel even got a nice book given to her for nothing! Bought tons of labels for our collection and few boxes of matches too.
