i thought of this while i was flipping a pair of scissors in the air and catching them in my hand. like a daredevil.
i've felt for a long while that dynamite is missing from the game...it would be defined by 'the finger'...and of course it would always win...

the rock i found on the road in front of a very large church in Granard, Eire...nice place with an old hill fort behind the church which now has a large statue of St. Patrick atop it...scissors were a present for bonsai pruning but mandy has since stolen them and uses them for cutting copper foil for her stained glass work...newspaper is our local paper The Diss Express...
I should say "Haircut", but it's not properly an object.
So, the scissors represent well a change, my need to move forward, to demonstrate to myself I can go on.
Scissors are a movement, a cut, an intimate change.
Sometime I need to cut my hair just to say "ohi, I can do it, I can change and move on. I can do it on my own, I'm strong!".
Sometime I need to cut my hair just to change the mirror reflection on the morning or to let me be different than the past.

"We're constantly cutting up content, picking out the best pieces, and passing it along. In the past, my mother used to something similar, but on a much smaller scale. She would grab a pair of scissors and snip interesting articles from the local newspaper or recipes she wanted to try from a magazine. Now a generation exists with the mentality that those scissors have been replaced with a mouse and an Internet connection.“

Don't really know what I am doing tonight..too tired, if I leave you a dumb comment that will be why!
A friend came over to help hang some sheetrock and brought a 12 pack of Session beer. It's good beer, but the bottle caps all have either rock, paper or scissors under them. Pretty fun. Anyway, I had the idea of this picture last night. Thought I would get the cobwebs of the old camera and shoot it. I'll try to do better when I get a new camera.
Number 66 for 114 in 2014: Scissors
I have an expensive pair of shears for fabric, the ones with the pink ribbon, which cost about £60. The biggest pair here is for paper and cost only £2.50. The orange handles Fiskars are also special and for thread and fabric. The kitchen scissors (How ever did we manage without those?!) are second from the right and the little ones from I know not where, but NOT for paper!
Not in this photo are some Hairdresser's scissors I inherited which I believe cost my sister-in law about £90.
So you may understand why I can get extremely peeved when someone tries to use any of these without asking first!
My sewing scissors (actual size and all). Old picture taken right after it was done, a new one should be up soon :)
Remember playing 'Rock, paper, scissors'? I remember feeling cheated because paper beat rock. How does that work? I think the people who made that rule are still in charge.
That's a rubber rock, BTW. It looks real enough when someone tosses it to you, but when you look at it for a second, it's pretty obvious that it's fake.
Doesn't look too real in this photo, either.
