The Women's ditch (Vrouwenvaart) forms the border between the Polderpark Cronesteyn and the civilized world. The park is approximately 120 hectares and is located in the municipality of Leiden in the Dutch province of South Holland. The park was realized in 1982 after a design by Evert Cornet in the Kleine Cronesteinse or Knotterpolder between the A4 motorway, the Leiden - Alphen railway line, the Rijn-Schie Canal and the Vrouwenvaart. The park and the polder are named after the disappeared Cronesteyn Castle, of which only the moat remains. This is now part of the Landgoedbos part of the park.
Until the annexation of 1966, the area was in the municipality of Zoeterwoude. In 1975 the territory came into full possession of the municipality of Leiden, after which it was decided to designate it as a polder park.
This park has an enormous diversity of plants and animals. In the park you will find, among other things, a swamp garden, butterfly meadows, an old estate forest, naturally managed meadows, plenty of water and a forest park. In addition to the diversity of land types, Cronesteyn is ideally suited to observe special birds such as the black-tailed godwit, lapwing, chiffchaff, garden warbler and redshank.

Het Statenjacht De Utrecht heeft een bijzondere geschiedenis. Statenjachten werden in de periode van ca. 1650 tot 1850 gebruikt voor het vervoer van belangrijke personen. Deze zeilschepen waren dan ook, volgens de destijds geldende normen, van alle gemakken voorzien. De schepen waren rijkelijk versierd. Daarmee werd al van afstand aangegeven dat er hooggeplaatste passagiers aan boord waren.
Het Statenjacht De Utrecht is gebouwd aan de hand van originele bouwtekeningen uit 1746, die in de archieven van het Scheepvaartmuseum verbleven.

The former Van Nelle Factory (Dutch: Van Nellefabriek) on the Schie in Rotterdam, is considered a prime example of the International Style based upon constructivist architecture. It has been a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014.[1] Soon after it was built, prominent architects described the factory as "the most beautiful spectacle of the modern age" (Le Corbusier in 1932) and "a poem in steel and glass" (Robertson in 1930).

DB Cargo beschikt over een grote vloot aan Siemens Vectron locomotieven Baureihe 193 om haar dienstverlening in het goederenvervoer tussen Nederland, Duitsland en België uit te kunnen voeren. Hiervan zijn 20 machines voorzien van een reclamebestickering in verschillende uitvoeringen uiteenlopend van bescheiden tot heel uitbundig. Sinds juni 2020 is locomotief 193 318 voorzien van de reclameslogan "I am the BACKBONE of the economy" (ik ben de ruggengraat van de economie). Zustermachine 193 365 heeft dezelfde reclameslogan gekregen, alleen heeft deze locomotief niet het rodebalkje op de beide cabines welke de 193 318 wel heeft. Het vergt geduld en geluk om één van de BACKBONE locomotieven voor de lens te krijgen. Op 19 februari 2021 zat de DBC 193 318 in de omloop voor staalproducent Tatasteel tussen Beverwijk en Kijfhoek v.v. Waar ik de dag ervoor ook deze locomotief in deze dienst twee keer kon fotograferen met de telefoon tijdens mijn rangeerdienst op Rotterdam CS, werd een dag later een poging met de camera gewaagd. DB Cargo locomotief 193 318 passeert met zijn lange sleep staalwagens als trein 61261 (Kfh-Bvhc), de Delfhavense Schiebruggen richting Tatasteel in Beverwijk. Op de voorgrond takte ooit de verbindingsboog af naar goederenemplacement Rechter Maas Oever (RMO), maar vandaag de dag zijn de rails al lang verdwenen en heeft emplacement RMO plaatsgemaakt voor een groot winkelcentrum. De wissels en sporen op de voorgrond staan heden ten dagen bij Prorail nog steeds te boek als: Rechter Maas Oever Aansluiting (RMOA).

Close to home lies the sluice of Leidschendam. A small historic village and I don't know why but I've never visited it with a camera.

De Oostpoort is de enig overgebleven stadspoort van de stad Delft. De poort werd rond 1400 gebouwd. De torens werden in de 16e eeuw verhoogd.
De Oostpoort bestaat uit een landpoort en een waterpoort die met elkaar zijn verbonden door resten van een stadsmuur.
Tegenwoordig is het gebouw in gebruik als woning en kunstgalerij.
De naastgelegen Oostpoortbrug dateert uit 1514 en is net als de poort zelf ook een rijksmonument.
Am 27.Februar 2022 waren um die Mittagszeit einige interessante Güterzüge im Zulauf für die Rechte Rheinstrecke (KBS 466) gen Norden:
Der Containerzug DGS 40032 von SBB Cargo war bespannt mit der MRCE 193 657 und die war erfreulicherweise noch als Werbelok (Wir bringen die Kraft von 8.700 Pferden auf die Schiene) ihres Vormieters TXL beklebt und war auf dem Weg von Melzoi Scalo in Italien nach Rotterdam Waalhaven Zuid in den Niederlanden und hatte gerade die Stadtgrenze von Wiesbaden-Schierstein erreicht und passierte das Einfahrsignal von Niederwalluf.
Am 5.März 2022 war die Lok das letzte Mal mit dieser Beklebung unterwegs.

Dit is een luchtbrug die vanuit de Productie richting het Directiekantoor en het kantorengedeelte loopt. Hier mag je wel doorheen lopen en dat hebben wij natuurlijk ook gedaan. Leuke ervaring en een mooi object om te fotograferen met natuurlijk weer die befaamde Gispenlamp. Leuk is ook de 'V' vorm van het buizenstelsel op de voorgrond. De uitkijk is op de Penitentiaire Inrichting De Schie aan de overkant van de Delfshavense Schie. Ook hier geeft de prachtige wolkenlucht een extraatje aan deze foto. Even groot bekijken - door op de 'L' toets te drukken.
This is an overhead bridge that runs from the Production to the Executive Office and the office area. You can walk through this and of course we did. Nice experience and a beautiful object to photograph with, of course, that famous Gispen lamp. Also nice is the 'V' shape of the tubing in the foreground. The lookout is at the Penitentiary Institution De Schie on the other side of the Delfshavense Schie. Here too, the beautiful cloudy sky gives this photo an extra touch. Schiedam, Zakkendragershuis , Oude Sluis en Schiedamse Schie
Het Zakkendragershuis uit 1725 was een gildehuis voor het Zakkendragersgilde Sint Anthonis. De zakkendragers lossen sinds 1465 goederen, die werden aangevoerd door de graan- en moutschepen. Het gilde en het Zakkendragershuis vormden een belangrijke schakel in de Schiedamse economie. In de daktoren hangt een klok die de zakkendragers waarschuwde als er goederen op een schip te laden of te lossen waren. In het gebouw is een wachtlokaal voor de zakkendragers die uit de buurt woonden en de klok niet zouden horen. Voor de verdeling van het werk werd ‘gesmakt’: de mannen lieten dobbelstenen vallen door een trechter en wie de hoogste ogen gooide, kreeg het beschikbare werk. Ondanks toenemende industrialisatie en mechanisering in de negentiende eeuw, bleven de zakkendragers onmisbaar voor het transport. Het Schiedamse Zakkendragersgilde is in Europa het enige gilde die nog bestaat.

The Zakkendrager House from 1725 was a guild house for Zakkendrager Guild Sint Anthonis. The bags carriers were unloading goods here since 1465, which were brought by the grain and malt ships. The guild and Zakkendrager House formed an important link in the Schiedam economy. In the roof tower is a clock warning the bag holders if goods were to be loaded on a ship. In the building is a waiting room for the bags wearers who lived in the neighborhood and would not hear the clock. For the deviding of the work there was "smacked". The men left dice falling through a funnel and who threw the highest eyes, got the available work. Despite increasing industrialization and mechanization in the nineteenth century, the bags were indispensable for the transport carriers. Schiedam Zakkendrager Guild is the only guild in Europe that still exist.
Vandaag met wat meer info dan de trein wel vast kunnen leggen, op hetzelfde punt als gisteren, maar dan de andere kant op.
De trein rijdt door de omleiding via Bad Bentheim als losse loc van Beverwijk naar de Kijfhoek en terug met de lege trein. Die lege trein zien we hier over de Delfhavense Schie rijden ten hoogte van de voormalige aansluiting naar Rotterdam RMO.
Nogal veel geluk gehad met het weer, 5 minuten eerder regende en hagelde het. Daarna de trein mooi in het zonnetje.
I saw this stork near the Tempel, a country estate in the Dutch municipality of Rotterdam on the Delftse Schie. The stork was on the lookout and started to rattle when her partner came back home.

I had to go out tonight and shoot the amazing clouds I saw from my window, and I hoped for a spectacular sunset. I went for 3 locations in one evening session: Starting at the border of Spangen plus Van Nelle Factory (again) biking like mad in the direction of (old/oud) Overschie (above) and after that around blue hour another visit to Kleinpolderplein, traffic junction annex swamp. This is the first upload of a lovely evening. Have a great week, make it worthwhile. Ta!
