I like the older CP paint scheme and 3015 made my night.

An attempt to treat a colour image as I would my monos, if that makes any sense...

Mitrofan of Voronezh (in the scheme of Makarius) is a bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church, the first bishop of Voronezh. Glorified as a saint on June 25, 1832. The future saint was born under the name Mykhailo in a family of Orthodox priests. He was married, had a son Ivan. At the age of forty, Mykhailo became a widower. In 1663, he was ordained a monk with the name Mitrofan. Mitrofan Voronezh blessed Tsar Peter the First for the construction of the Russian navy and the Azov campaign. At the bishop's funeral, Peter the First personally carried his coffin.

According to information from the Antiquarian magazine No. 86: "Restoration: Revival of Treasures", 10/14/2014, the image of Bishop Mitrofan of Voronezh, on the edge of the pylon of the side chapel of St. Olga in the choir above the southern nave, belongs to the brush of Wilhelm KotarbinskI. Other sources call Pavel Svedomskyi the author, others assert joint authorship or the impossibility of determining authorship. Kotarbynskyi, being a Catholic, did not sign his works in accordance with the contract for the performance of the works.

While some of the old section of the Janghang Line is still being used, there are also sections on which the (non-electrified) new section has been used for years. For example in the Seokchon area. Here with the blue - which differs from the usual colour scheme - Korail 7382 and Mugunghwa 1551 Yongsan - Iksan.

One of the oldest markets in London, dating from the 14th century, and is located in the historic center of the City of London financial district.

The market dates from the 14th century and is said to derive its name from Leather-hall, though it is disputable. The early history of Leaden Hall involves the Mayor (1446), Simon Eyre. According to John Stow, "Eyre, a draper built Leaden Hall for a common garner of corn for the use of this city".

The Market is typically open weekdays from 10 am until 6 pm, and primarily sells fresh food; among the vendors there are cheesemongers, butchers and florists. Originally a meat, game and poultry market, it stands on what was the center of Roman London. A number of commercial retailers are also located in the market, including clothes shops.

The ornate roof structure, painted green, maroon and cream, and cobbled floors of the current structure, designed in 1881 by Sir Horace Jones (who was also the architect of Billingsgate and Smithfield Markets), make Leadenhall Market a tourist attraction.

The main entrance to the market is on Gracechurch Street. The double height entrance is flanked by tall, narrow gabled red brick and Portland stone blocks in a 17th-century Dutch style. The adjacent buildings to the south have a continuous retail frontage which is punctuated by narrow entrances to pedestrian ways into the market.

Between 1990 and 1991 the market received a dramatic redecoration which improved its appearance, enhancing its architectural character and detail. The redecoration scheme received a special mention in the Civic Trust Awards in 1994. The market is a Grade II* listed building, being listed in 1972.

This magnificent entrance made in 1745 during the 3rd renovation, by the brilliant baroque sculpture Ignacio Vergara Gimeno makes reference to the two largest rivers in the vast Valencian region the Turia and Jućar, that is represented by two naked human figures; under these two buckets pour water in clear reference to the title of ththre Marquises. On the right side of the entrance it set represented two heads of crocodile, a quiver of arrows and a vessel by whose mouth pour the water. On this set one of the two great figures referred to above and higher up decoration of ivy whose trunk it curls a snake.

On the left side, a reclining lion, another vessel pouring water into and other quiver of arrows. On the back of the lion resting the foot on the other giant. Beauty and grandeur of this entrance is truly a masterpiece.

Digging into the collection, found me this patriotic Alco S-2 for "Switcher Sunday", photographed by the late but well known Cleveland photographer James P. Marcus. Hard to believe that Jungle Jim, as we knew him, has already been gone 36 years, but at least we can still enjoy many of his unique captures, such as this one. Buffalo Creek, was a switching railroad that still operated 7 Alco swtichers at the time it was taken over by Conrail. Those units wore standard colors of orange, black and yellow, but #46 got this special scheme for the Bicentennial in 1976.

SM42-2547 shunts with a set of Cedrob containers, which are to be loaded up at the local bulk cargo terminal in the harbour of Gdynia. At the end of July 2023 the locomotive has undergone a repair together with a change in the paint scheme. From now on, all CTL locomotives are to be painted this way.

The list of locomotives in this new livery is currently still relatively short. This is the only 'Stonka' which I saw in Gdynia to have the orange and silver paint put on, however there might be some other ones around the country. There is also ET22-R002 after a repair finished just before last christmas eve.

“World Health Assembly adopts historic Pandemic Agreement to make the world more equitable and safer from future pandemics”

“Member States of the World Health Organization (WHO) today formally adopted by consensus the world’s first Pandemic Agreement.”

“The adoption followed yesterday’s approval of the Agreement by vote (124 in favour, 0 objections, 11 abstentions) in Committee by Member State delegations.”

“The WHO Pandemic Agreement is the second international legal agreement negotiated under Article 19 of the WHO Constitution, the first being the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, which was adopted in 2003 and entered into force in 2005.”

I remember when they started pushing this anti-smoking stuff. They started telling people where they could and could not smoke. A smoker at work thought that I was happy about the smoking crackdown because I was a non-smoker. I told her that I was not happy about it. My reply: if they can attack the freedom of a large portion of the population now, then, in the future, they will attack more important freedoms. At the time, I didn’t know that the smoking regulations were due to a United Nations agreement. Moreover, the UN Paris Accord has been causing massive destruction to our economy in Canada!

Viewed through a thin veil of fog, and with little, more prominent, dollops of mist still visible moving like phantoms among the trees, soft rime ice coats the upper reaches (more on the windward side) of spruce trees rising above lower deciduous foliage shining golden in autumn sidelight--on the upper western slopes of Roan High Knob, in the Cherokee National Forest, Tennessee.

Rime ice such as this is a rare treat in my experience. Formed from freezing fog pushing though the alpine forest and over higher summits, it coats trees in the most beautiful growth of tiny crystal shards, pieces of which then break free in the mountain breeze and sun and fall like flecks of glittering mica.

I was hiking back south and down toward Engine Gap last fall--after enjoying seeing this stunning phenomenon coating the high conifers at least as far over as Grassy Ridge Bald--when across the gap I noticed this gentle sidelight briefly accentuating the amber fall color through which rose some rime-covered conifers displaying bluish hues in those conditions. Visible mysterious effects of the still passing mists added to the atmosphere, so I fired off a few snapshots with the long lens, and hoped something came out fairly well. The results here have limits to be sure--they're best viewed smaller than larger as you might imagine, but its one of those subdued scenes we find in nature sometimes that are really striking to experience, and worth sharing, I thought, even as a quick snap.

Thanks for viewing!
