My whole planing scheme uploading pictures is becoming a mess. Still confident that I can show my Norwegian shots, in between I make new shots, and being enthusiastic about these wanting to share them too! and a new trip to Norway only three weeks from now. (and still Canada somewhere in the pocket|).

This one is from two days ago, when the weather cleared and I went out close to my home encountering a grebe family! The golden reflection is from houses on the other side of the canal, with the golden hour reflecting in the water.
Ca 150 shots and several worth showing, and ooh I have quite a lot of Ankeveen images too!

On July 25, 2022, Union Pacific formally announced a makeover of its classic Armour Yellow and Harbor Mist Gray paint scheme. The first unit to receive the new look was SD70ACe No. 8620. Its first assignment was to lead the MNPRO 25 (North Platte - Roper) manifest, pictured in Roy, Utah on the Salt Lake Subdivision the morning of July 28, 2022.

This is the view of Loch Meig from Loch Meig Dam. This is another hydro scheme loch and I was delighted to take in this amazing view.

No, Don Knotts is NOT in the building....
But all three of the Massachusetts Central Railroad's Geeps are in Ware, MA. Here they pose for a family photo, all wearing the Boston and Maine inspire Blue Bird Scheme. GP38-2's #1750 and #1751, and GP9 #1749.
Both 38's were built in '72 and spent time as EMD Demonstrators and on the Penn Central. The GP9 was built for in 1956 for the Chesapeake and Ohio, road number 6199.

The Steller's Jays are always watching and scheming up new plans to steal your food or win a handout.
At Bijoux Falls, I used to stop for a break to relax and enjoy the waterfall. Now, I stop to enjoy the antics of the local Steller's jay flock.
Within a minute of parking, they glide one by one down from the canopy. First, they size you up and if they determine that the chances of winning a snack are good, there will soon be a dozen or more perched on nearby branches.
I usually bring along a large bag of sunflower seeds or peanuts. The bolder Jays will come and stand on the picnic table and ask for seeds. Within minutes, I've had birds perched on my hands or shoulders.

We've driven by this wreck more times then I care to admit and never stopped to grab a photo. On today's occasion we were on our way back from testing our mettle in the extreme cold at Niagara Falls and finally decided to stop. The ice offered a perspective we hadn't seen before and the sun came out for a few minutes to provide some contrast against the snowy sky we were driving back in to.
I believe the ship is known as La Grande Hermine or alternatively, The Big Weasel - although I'm not sure where the latter came from. Like most grand schemes, there is a colorful history to it and if you're interested, check out the link below.

A Santa Fe SD39 locomotive pulls an eastbound train through Woodford in the Tehachapi Mountains of California.
ATSF 1569 was built Santa Fe 4015 by EMD in June 1969. In December 1985, it was rebuilt, renumbered ATSF 1569, and repainted in the "Kodachrome" SPSF merger paint scheme.
About a month after my previous two posts, I found this nice lash leading 687 through the bucolic part of the Watertown Sub between Fall River and Reeseville. Correct leader or trail fail? You be the judge.
Speaking of the trailer, SOO 6044 was probably on it's 12th iteration of number boards at this point. It was one-of-three Candy Apple 60's left and they were always pretty neat to see on the road. Towards the end here, 6044's paint was really starting to get bad. But it would be put out of it's misery a couple years later and emerge as CP 6303 in the revived beaver scheme.
And why didn't I take the time to chop down the weeds covering MT1? No clue. Either I was lazy or, more likely, I thought they added something to the frame. Young and dumb. I wish I could say I've gotten smarter in the seven years since.
An attempt to treat a colour image as I would my monos, if that makes any sense...
Some developers a while back proposed to install artificial islands in this bay (Belle Greve) for "exclusive" luxury living and shopping. Local protest and the economic meltdown in the West seemed to have stopped this idea...
Early am light finds fresh repaint 6241 leading the 3 class paint schemes of ex Soo Line SD60's through Belleville, Michigan with a CP trackage right eastbound oil train on NS back on March 17, 2012.
These falls are just above the high water level of Loch Mullardoch and I have visited them many times. Today I was dismayed to see the devastation to the area caused by a Hydro scheme being built upstream; hopefully once complete the area will be suitably landscaped, the buildings made to 'fit in' and enough water left in the stream for the falls to still flow.
