CSX I008 comes out of the siding at CP-22 in Blauvelt, NY, with Union Pacific SD70ACe 8518 leading. Its one of the first engines to receive the railroad's updated paint scheme that involved moving the American flag onto the cab as opposed to the long hood.
On July 25, 2022, Union Pacific formally announced a makeover of its classic Armour Yellow and Harbor Mist Gray paint scheme. The first unit to receive the new look was SD70ACe No. 8620. Its first assignment was to lead the MNPRO 25 (North Platte - Roper) manifest, pictured in Roy, Utah on the Salt Lake Subdivision the morning of July 28, 2022.
Ok, if I could get Mom to go there, then I lure Dad to that other spot, I think I could trick them into playing!

Raccoons seem to always get a bad rep, especially those that live in urban settings. They are often the target of ridicule for their destructive behaviour towards people's homes and garbage cans in particular.
When I spotted this raccoon, it appeared as if it was plotting its next scheme with its devious look. Nonetheless, they are beautiful animals that are part of a bigger ecosystem, despite their sometimes bad behaviour
National Open Garden Scheme - Gardens of Great Britain – Ultingwick, Ulting, Nr. Maldon, Essex.
This is another series of photographs taken in the many National Open Gardens we have visited over a period time. It never ceases to amaze how many gardens there are just for Essex and the variety of planting they show, long may it continue. The Yellow Book lives on.
The Steller's Jays are always watching and scheming up new plans to steal your food or win a handout.
At Bijoux Falls, I used to stop for a break to relax and enjoy the waterfall. Now, I stop to enjoy the antics of the local Steller's jay flock.
Within a minute of parking, they glide one by one down from the canopy. First, they size you up and if they determine that the chances of winning a snack are good, there will soon be a dozen or more perched on nearby branches.
I usually bring along a large bag of sunflower seeds or peanuts. The bolder Jays will come and stand on the picnic table and ask for seeds. Within minutes, I've had birds perched on my hands or shoulders.

The image of trees and cloudy sky is reflected in the serene and calm surface of an idyllic pond in autumn. You are looking at inverted treetops, so you know they’re not real, but merely reflected. In the pond there is an abundance of delicate, floating water lilies: they are not inverted, so they are real. The shot contains both real and reflected elements, easy to tell from one another.
If only it were equally easy to distinguish truth from illusion hidden in our world: It is hard to detect or comprehend a grand scheme that has carefully and deceitfully been masterminded, planned and prepared throughout entire millennia by evil in order to disguise something ghastly as pleasing to the eye by exploiting Imagination rather than reflections!

Some developers a while back proposed to install artificial islands in this bay (Belle Greve) for "exclusive" luxury living and shopping. Local protest and the economic meltdown in the West seemed to have stopped this idea...
