The driver of 40012 Aureol was certainly giving it some stick on 6th December 1984 at Low Fell after leaving Tyne Yard with 6S41, the Haverton Hill to Leith Ammonia tanks. The road bridge was vibrating as the old loco thundered beneath. Aureol was to survive into preservation.

Looking forward to getting the film I've shot developed once this all settles.
This is marked as being taken in 1966, when we had a holiday in Somerset (I'm the baby, with my sister!). I believe we stayed in Lydeard St Lawrence, but I remember nothing about this holiday!
You can see my sister, brother and Mum here.
(If you have any idea where this was taken, please let me know! I know there's little chance - it could be Watchet or Dunster or somewhere on the Somerset coast.)
Scanned today from a print made over 50 years ago.
If only I could retrace my steps along the Thames where I shot this scene from. Today all the cranes are gone and almost the entire waterfront has been redeveloped, mostly by very extremely expensive dwellings.
Scanned print. This is a black and white film version of a scene I also have on here shot in colour on my digital camera.
Shot on Ilford FP4 and printed on Ilford RC Multigrade.

This week I'm going for a photo taken in 1967/8 (I'll go with 1967, as I look young!) on an open top bus at our nearest bus stop. Here I am with my doting Dad, photo probably taken by my Mum. In the summer months we had an open top bus service that ran from the bus stop across from our house to the other end of the beach - number 25! Behind me has all changed now. Those are the warehouses at the Camber, but now they're all gone and Ben Ainslie's headquarters are in their place.
Was lucky enough to get out camping one last time before the winter. Here's a little preview from a photo essay I shot for Saxx that should be out soon. Stoked!
