A white-tailed kite is scanning Las Gallinas Ponds for some prey

This female California Ground Squirrel started scanning the trees after hearing the screech of a Red-tailed Hawk. Right after this shot, she scrambled for the nearest burrow.

Scanning the Highway Paddock on Saturday - moments before swooping on a lizard.

A green-backed flycatcher (ficedula elisae) on lookout. This little bird was constantly scanning the sky for flies and, having caught one, returned to this favoured perch,

A Red-winged Blackbird scans the area for threats.

RKO_6650. A couple more shots of the Short-eared Owl/Velduil taken a couple of days ago. Extreem cold wind and lucky enough with some reasonable flight shots.
