the commission specified a piece that had been in the family for 100 years,as opposed to a brand new piece.
A bird's eye view of the little pâtisserie with a holiday display table and a pastry case full of delicious sweets. The top shelf is lined with hand painted canisters, and I still have a great deal of work to do in order to fill the rest of the shelves :)
Special thanks to Lisa at satsumabug.etsy.com for the lovely fabrics!
Some of the wonderful potting bench projects made by my students in the class I taught at Guild School in 2005.
The two tall vases are really beautiful in person, too bad the quick group pictures didn't come out very well. Loving the rustic look of the bowl set too.
A newer bird's eye view of the Pâtisserie with the fruit display on the front table and new macarons, chocolate chip cookies, and other sweets added to the dessert displays.
There was a crooked man who walked a crooked mile...
The superb crooked man was made by Nicky Cooper, a U.K. artist, for my 1/12th scale crooked house. He has a crooked cane and is holding a crooked sixpence.

I have yet to fill two of the tables in the Pâtisserie, but for now, I've arranged the Fruit Salad Prep Board, the Tropical Fruit Heart Tart, and the Peaches 'n' Cream cake on the front table.
Nothing has been set up permanently. I just wanted to get an idea of what it would look like with the lights on!
Of course, any miniaturist's work area would have minis! So I made this tiny skating scene to fit in the 1/12th scale work room.
There was a crooked man who walked a crooked mile...
Of course, when he wanted to make a fire for those chilly night, he found the fireplace to be crooked also!
Inside view of my 1/12th scale Crooked House.

Well, if you're gonna make a crooked house, you need a crooked staircase! So each step was made separately. A tad fiddly!
