i'm still working for the "perfect" lighting scheme. i'm going to angle the end lights out more, and maybe lose 1 light all together
I'll let you in on my little secret to creating your very own, inexpensive, but really nice looking 1920' miniature stove. Just get yourself some old, good for nothing cardboard, some polymer clay (I chose fimo), some paint and don't forget to allocate a good few hours' working time - it may take more or less, depending on one's patience, determination and skill. :))
Oh, and lest I forget, don’t start anything without a good model in mind. Research until you find the stove you love (God knows the internet is full of great pictures), scale it down on paper – you must not start without a sketch, or you won’t get very far.

Inspiration for this piece came from the storybook cottages and shops of Carmel Ca. In particular, the concept for this unit came from a structure known as Hansel Cottage. Hundreds of handcrafted stones, bricks, and leaves were used to complete the structure. The stones, and wood grained front door have been meticulously faux painted. The roofline. exterior wall skirt, chimney pot, door, roof and bay roof all contain smooth arching lines which are central to the theme of this unit. Dimensions are 21" x 16" x 21". Got less done today then wanted to. while installing a can light found another wiring run. So mostly just fixed things and installed door handles
Today's miniature delight, pear cake and a jar of pear compote. This delicious looking dessert is set on a super fine white ceramic cake, and has been already sliced, letting you see the realistic texture inside. Look close enough and you can catch a glimpse of the tiny seeds inside.
A fine powdered sugar has been sprinkled on top, as you would on any ready to be served dessert.
The glass jar with the compote comes with its own functional lid, to open and close as you like.
The material used is polymer clay, and the scale of the miniatures is 1:12/1''.
