This Christmas vignette was made for an aunt. All her favourites are here - anything pink, her slippers, her chair, her needlepoint magazine, her glases, her coffee.
Making the bedding for my 1/12th scale bed was fun. The next bed I make will be for a lady's room, so it will be much dressier.
1/12th scale blanket chest about 4 inches long. I made this as an exchange gift for the Ontario Miniatures Gathering in April 2010.

I used a cover from a wallpaper book to make the base, then glued on a thin piece of foamcore. The hole thing (including the sides) was coated with spackling, which I textured, allowed to dry completely, sanded in spots, then painted. The rocks are pieces of styrofoam insulation.
I made a foamcore box that fit very tightly inside the log cabin. It helped keep the walls straight as the cabin was being built. It was removed once the walls were finished
Oh boy! Did I have fun with this! The cigarettes are made of Fimo and each one was painted separately. The ash is real ash from the fireplace.
You wouldn't believe the number of teeny tiny cigarettes that went flying away from my tweezers, never to be seen again!
