A backlit photo of the church with flares, unsalvageable. This was the best I could do! Iron River has a church in each of the major flavors and a couple of minor ones... the whole region was settled by Scandinavians and Germans, and Lutheranism is strong there, as indeed all over Wisconsin.

We had a bit of a run-in with a snowbank on our way up the trail. First Leif picked us up (pushing his five pairs of skis out of the way to make room in the car!), and then Bill came and ploughed and pulled us out. Huzzah! This is also the snowplough famous for its role on Car Talk.
