Holy Savior Catholic Church, one of the oldest parishes in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, was founded on February 21, 1850. In 1866, after the Civil War, Father Peter Letilly built a proper church, because the old chapel had fallen into disrepair.
The church was built and formally dedicated on April 17, 1870 to St. Sauveur. In the hurricane of 1915, the original Holy Savior Church was destroyed. A new church was built in 1916 under the direction of Father Raynal. On June 27, 1917, the Church received three new bells, which were named Eugene, Emile and Laurent.
The second Holy Savior Church was very modern in design--clerestories were used to break the roofline which provided natural illumination for the interior.

jim and his savior. I saw jim on the side of the street, with his head off the crb at a bs stop. gradually i got him to come arond, and this kind lady and her hsband offered to drive him all the way across town to his home.

The interior is made up entirely of frescos made from tiny tiles.
This building is the Cathedral of Christ the Savior--a popular landmark in Moscow. I think it looks very Taj Mahal-esque.

Truth # 9 - Yesterday was the hardest day of my nursing career and probably one that I will not soon forget. A patient of mine, one whom I'd spent 2 days with, passed away. He was the first patient that I've had that has passed away. He was with hospice care. I was so overwhelmed with every emotion that you could imagine.
** i don't know what i would do without my baby in my life, he's my rock and i know that no matter what happens, i will always have him to fall back on.
The last truth leads me to my next truth:
Truth # 10 - Thinking yesterday after the passing of my patient and spending time at the chapel after work, I don't think that I will be able to handle it when my grandma or my mom pass away. I have thought about it from time to time and it never ever seems to get any more easy to even IMAGINE and now with my fiance in my life, I just know I will lose my mind when any of them pass away.
I just want to live in a perfect world where we all stay healthy and live forever.
Truth #11 - I often feel guilty that I don't go to church as much as I used to or as much as I would like to. I know that I don't have to go to church to have God in my life and I have no desire to be a part of any organized religion, even though I proclaim myself as a Lutheran, because that's what I was brought up as when I was growing up. I go to church on Christmas eve, but sometimes I think I should show more effort.

Taken with Canon or iphone4 and then edited in the percolator application, partly for style, but mostly for the awesome side effect of turning a low res photo back into a high res one (high res is relative, but it converted these photos from around 75-150kb to 1-2 mb)!

Built originally as All Saints Episcopal Church in 1890, Our Merciful Savoir Church is an excellent example of a small church built to serve the needs of lower- middle-class working families. Designed by James Murdoch, this Gothic Revival style church is rectangular with a square tower and steeple on the northwest corner of the façade. Gothic arched windows decorate the exterior and a rose window dominates the front gable.
Restoration work on this building was partially funded by a State Historic Fund grant. As part of the grant contract, an exterior façade easement was donated to Historic Denver, Inc.
